This Sunday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the St. John's Red Storm and the Seton Hall Pirates. This game will take place at the Prudential Center at approximately 2:00 P.M EST.

St. John's Looks To Get Back On Track

The St. John's Red Storm have looked like a slightly above average college basketball team so far this season. The Red Storm have won 14 of their first 26 games but they enter this game on a low note after losing to Xavier at home by three points in their last game. In that game, St. John's defense was awful as it gave up 77 points while allowing the opposition to shoot 48.4% from the floor. To make matters worse, St. John's has lost four of its last five games so it has been playing some terrible basketball lately. Now, St. John's will be looking to get back on track with a conference road game up next. However, the Red Storm have lost five of their first six road games up to this point so a victory here is rather unlikely.

Leading the Red Storm offensively is junior guardLJ Figueroa who has been pretty good this season as he is averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game along with 4.5 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 2.2 steals per game so he has been very active on both sides of the ball up to this point.

St. John's most underrated player is junior guard Rasheem Dunn who has been good this season as he is averaging 12.7 points per game along with 3.7 rebounds. However, he is also shooting 37.8% from the floor so he has been very inefficient offensively.

Seton Hall Looks For Another Home Win

The Seton Hall Pirates have been looked like a really good college basketball team so far this season. The Pirates have won 19 of their first 26 games and they enter this game on a high note after beating Butler at home by two points in their last game. In that game, Seton Hall's offense was pretty good as it scored 74 points while shooting 37.5% from the three-point line. However, that victory was not that surprising considering the fact that that Seton Hall has a 10-3 record at home this season. Now, the Pirates will have the opportunity to get themselves another home victory on Sunday.

Leading the Pirates offensively is senior guard Myles Powell who has been very good this season as he is averaging a team-high 21.4 points per game along with 4.5 rebounds. However, he is also averaging a team-high 2.8 turnovers per game so he will need to make better decisions with the basketball moving forward.

Seton Hall's most underrated player is junior forward Sandro Mamukelashvili who has been decent so far this season as he is averaging 10.6 points per game along with 4.9 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 51.5% from the floor so he has been efficient offensively up to this point.

Seton Hall has been the much better team this season and it has looked great at home this season so I will take the Pirates in this game. Seton Hall has a 10-3 record at home this season so I think that it should continue playing well in this home game. Seton Hall is also still ranked in the AP Poll while St. John's barely has a winning record so I think that there is a serious talent disparity present within this matchup.  Plus, Seton Hall is shooting roughly three percent better than St. John's from the floor so it should be able to make enough shots in order to cover this spread. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Seton Hall -10.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Rating:

Both of these teams have been very solid offensively so I think that this total should be a bit higher. St. John's is averaging 75.1 points per game while Seton Hall is averaging 74.4 points per game so I think that this game has the potential to get into the 150s. Plus, St. John's loves to play at a very fast pace as it ranks 16th in the nation in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom Rankings so I think that this game should be played primarily in transition which will result in more possessions for both teams. As a result, I think that there is some value with the over in this spot.

Prediction: Over 148

Half-Time Side Pick

Rating:

Seton Hall has been great in conference games this season so I think that it should be able to get out to a fast start within the first 20 minutes of this game. Seton Hall has won 11 of its first 14 conference games while St. John's has a 3-10 conference games up to this point so I think that the Red Storm will struggle to keep this game close early on. Plus, St. John's is allowing roughly four more points per game so I am a bit skeptical of its ability to get enough stops in order to cover this first half spread. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Seton Hall 1H
