The George Mason Patriots will host the George Washington Colonials in an A10 clash on Wednesday night. The Colonials recorded a surprising home win against Rhode Island on Sunday.

The Patriots are confident after posting an upset win over VCU in their latest action. George Washington topped George Mason in both meetings last season.

Colonials Earn Upset Win over Rhode Island

The George Washington Colonials head into this one with confidence. They were large nine-point dogs in a convincing 78-70 home win over Rhode Island on Sunday to even their A10 record to 3-3. The Colonials’ season has been filled with postponements as they have only played one game all month. They have covered the spread in four of their six A10 games this season.

James Bishop tallied 28 points in Sunday’s big win. The sophomore guard is one of the top scorers in the A10. He has scored at least 20 points in all but three games and features an average of 20.5 PPG and 5.5 APG. Jamison Battle is also thriving, surpassing 20 points in three out of his last four games. The sophomore forward has increased his season average to 19.1 PPG and 5.6 RPG. Ricky Lindo Jr. has only played in three games and has netted at least 10 points in all three. The junior forward is averaging 12.3 PPG and 10 RPG.

The Colonials are ranked 196th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s college basketball ratings. George Washington is scoring an average of 72.8 points on the season, placing them 143rd overall, They are conceding an average of 73.4 points, pegging them down at 259th in the country.

George Mason Stuns VCU in Sixth A10 Victory

The George Mason Patriots are aiming for a third straight victory. George Mason defeated Fordham in a blowout and followed by recording a stunning 79-76 overtime road win over VCU on Saturday in a tilt that had VCU as nine-point favorites. The Patriots have climbed to 6-6 in A10 play this season. They have covered in six of those 12 bouts.

Jordan Miller is consistently producing, sinking at least 15 points in seven consecutive clashes. The junior guard has eclipsed the 20 point mark three times and enters this one averaging 15.9 PPG on 46% shooting. Javon Greene is 5 for 8 from three-point territory in his last two games. The senior guard has lifted his season average to 11.4 PPG along with 5.1 RPG. Tyler Kolek has scored at least 11 points in three out of his last four bouts. The freshman guard has filed an average of 10.6 PPG.

The Patriots are positioned 134th in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s college basketball ratings and have won three straight home decisions. George Mason is averaging 70.9 points, ranking them 191st in DI. They are conceding an average of 70.4 points, landing them 193rd overall.

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

George Mason has momentum after recording back-to-back wins including a 79-76 upset overtime victory against first-place VCU on Saturday. George Washington also won their previous clash but overall they haven’t been able to win with consistency and have only tallied two wins in their last five games overall.

Furthermore, the Colonials can’t be trusted defensively. They have squandered 70 or more points in three out of their last four bouts and George Mason has accumulated a solid 77 and 79 points respectively in their last two games. The Patriots are also reliable at home where they have come away with the victory in three consecutive games.

Prediction: George Mason Patriots -7.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

George Mason is performing well offensively and the same can be said for the Colonials. The over has been the common trend for the Patriots and they also play at a faster pace of 73.8 possessions per game. They should continue to produce against a Colonials team that is allowing opponents to shoot over 45% against them.

In addition, George Washington has scored at least 75 points in three out of their last four games overall. The over is 5-2 in George Mason’s last seven games overall and 4-1 in their last five games following a straight-up win.

Prediction: Over

Full-Game Prop Bet

Insiders Status:

George Mason is very productive on their home floor where they have scored at least 75 points in three straight bouts. The Colonials haven’t played a whole lot on the road due to postponements which is a disadvantage. Also, the Patriots were able to sink 45% of their shots against a terrific VCU defense and should have no issues scoring again.

Prediction: George Mason Team Total Over 73

Half-Time Total Bet

Insiders Status:

This game should feature plenty of scoring from start to finish. The Colonials scored 37 points in the opening half against Rhode Island and are averaging a solid 34.2 points in the first half on the road this season. Also, George Mason should thrive against a Colonials team that has squandered an average of 37 points in the first half in their last three games.

Prediction: Over 66
