This Friday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Fairfield Stags. This meeting will take place at Alumni Hall and it will occur at approximately 7:00 PM.

Bobcats Look For A Rare Road Win

The Quinnipiac Bobcats have looked like a slightly below average college basketball team so far this season. The Bobcats have lost 15 of its first 27 games and they enter this game on a low note after losing to Siena at home by seven points in their last game. In that game, Quinnipiac's defense was terrible as it gave up 84 points while allowing the opposition to shoot 50.8% from the floor. Now, the Bobcats will be looking for a much better defensive performance in this conference road game. However, Quinnipiac has lost 9 of its first 12 road games this season so it has struggled in hostile environments up to this point.

Leading the Bobcats offensively is junior guard Rich Kelly who has been very good this season as he is averaging a team-high 16.7 points per game along with a team-high 4.5 assists. In addition, he is shooting 39.4% from the three-point line so he has been able to stretch defenses all by himself.

Quinnipiac's most underrated player is junior forward Kevin Marfo who has been great this season as he is averaging 10.3 points per game along with a team-high 13.1 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 50.0% from the floor so he has been pretty efficient offensively up to this point.

Fairfield Looks For Another Home Win

The Fairfield Stags have looked like a below-average college basketball team so far this season. The Stags have lost 16 of its first 27 games and they enter this game on a low note after losing to Siena at home by three points in their last game. In that game, Fairfield's offense was terrible as it only scored 59 points while shooting just 36.2% from the floor. Now, the Stags will be looking to get back on track with another conference game up next. However, Fairfield still has a losing record at home this season so it has struggled in front of its home fans up to this point.

Leading the Stags offensively is senior guard Landon Taliaferro who has been good this season as he is averaging a team-high 11.7 points per game along with 2.0 rebounds. However, he is also shooting just 35.4% from the three-point line so he has been able to stretch defenses out a bit with his range.

Fairfield's most underrated player is junior guard Jesus Cruz who has been good this season as he is averaging 10.7 points per game along with 3.6 rebounds. However, he is also averaging 2.0 turnovers per game so he will need to make less mistakes in the future.

Even though both of these teams have virtually the exact same record, Quinnipiac has looked like a disaster on the road so I cannot trust it in this spot. The Bobcats have lost 9 of their first 12 road games and I expect them to continue struggling in this hostile environment on Friday. Plus, Quinnipiac has lost seven of its last eight games so it has been playing some terrible basketball lately which makes me believe that it will come out flat in this conference game. As a result, I think that there is some value with the home team in this spot. Give me the Stags.

Prediction: Fairfield -2.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Both of these teams have been pretty underwhelming offensively so I think that this total is a bit too high. Fairfield is averaging just 59.0 points per game while Quinnipiac is averaging just 69.9 points per game so I think that this game should land somewhere in the low-120s. Plus, Fairfield loves to play at a very slow pace as it ranks 343rd in the nation in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom Rankings so I think that this game should be played primarily in the halfcourt which will result in less possessions for both teams. Give me the under.

Prediction: Under 129.5

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Fairfield got embarrassed by Quinnipiac in the first meeting this season so I think that the Stags will be very motivated to get out to a fast start within the first 20 minutes of this game. Quinnipiac has lost 9 of its first 12 road games this season so it has looked very uncomfortable in hostile environments and I think that it will struggle early on as a result. Plus, Quinnipiac is allowing roughly nine more  points per game so it should struggle to get enough stops in order to cover this first half spread. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Fairfield 1H
