The Marist Red Foxes host the Siena Saints Friday in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Red Foxes are at the bottom of the conference at 7-19 overall and 6-11 in the MAAC while the Saints lead the way at 16-10 overall and 12-5 in the conference. Siena beat Marist 70-57 on January 24 at home. Tipoff is Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET at the McCann Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Siena wins 6th straightThe Siena Saints pulled into a tie for first place in the MAAC Wednesday with an 84-77 win over Quinnipiac. The Saints are now 16-10 overall and 12-5 in the MAAC. It was their 6th straight win and 9th win in the last 10 games. Manny Camper led Siena with 19 points and 14 rebounds.Jalen Pickett added 17 points, draining 5 three-pointers and dishing out five assists.
Siena shot 51 percent from the field including a scintillating 56 percent from three as they made 10 of 18 from deep. Donald Carey added 18 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for Siena while Elijah Burns chipped in with 10 points and 3 rebounds. Jordan King contributed nine points on 3-pointers off the bench. With three games left, Siena is now tied with St, Peter's in the MAAC.
Marist can't get past ManhattanIt's been a pretty long season for the Marist Red Foxes. On Wednesday they lost their 5th game in their last 6, falling to Manhattan 65-56. The loss sent them tumbling to 7-19 overall and 6-11 in the MAAC. Only Canisius at 5-11 is below them. Sophomore forward Braden Bell led Marist with 20 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. He was 8 for 17 from the field.
Tyler Saint-Furcy added 11 points and 4 steals for Marist while Michael Cubbage had a good all-around game with 7 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. The Red Foxes had 9 steals in the game. Matt Herasme, who had 5 points and 4 rebounds, drainedathree-pointer with about 8 minutes left to cut Manhattan's lead to five, but the Jaspers went on a 5n-0 run after that to bump the lead back up.
