The Nebraska Cornhuskers (10-13, 8-16 ATS, 6-17 O/U) battle the Michigan Wolverines (13-10, 11-11-1 ATS, 13-10 O/U) in Big Ten action on Wednesday evening. The Cornhuskers recorded a needed home win against Penn State on Sunday. The Wolverines collected a home win against Ohio State in their previous game. Michigan won both meetings last season.
Nebraska Ends Slide in Win vs. Penn State
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are in the win column. They snapped a rough four-game losing streak with a dominating 72-63 home win against Penn State on Sunday in a clash that had Nebraska marked as 4.5 point dogs. Nebraska has not been able to win games with any consistency in conference play due to a struggling offense. The Cornhuskers' three other Big Ten wins occurred against Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio State. They have covered in only two of their last ten games.
Derrick Walker has connected on at least 50% of his field goals in six of his last seven clashes. The senior forward only scored nine points in Sunday’s victory and is averaging 13.2 PPG along with 7.4 RPG. Sam Griesel is capable of big points. He netted 21 points against Illinois last week. The senior guard has posted an average of 11.3 PPG and 4 APG. Keisei Tominaga collected 30 points on Sunday. The junior guard has logged an average of 11.1 PPG. Juwan Gary is out for the remainder of the season due to injury.

The Cornhuskers are marked 97th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and struggled on the road where they are 2-7 on the season highlighted by an overtime win against Minnesota. Nebraska has rarely hit the 70 points mark in conference play and is only averaging 65.7 points on the year, pegging them 325th. They are conceding an average of 68.3 points, placing them 146th.
Michigan Defeats Ohio State
The Michigan Wolverines are seeking a third consecutive victory. They recently lost two games in a row but have replied by defeating Northwestern by a 68-51 score and were 2.5 point favorites in a convincing 77-69 home win against Ohio State on Sunday to improve to 7-5 in conference play. Michigan has not been able to win games with consistency in the stacked Big Ten but has the ability to beat anyone. The Wolverines have covered the spread in two out of their last three decisions.
Hunter Dickinson was marvelous in Sunday’s win, accumulating 26 points. The junior center has scored at least 19 points in five of his last six games and has registered an average of 18.1 PPG along with 8.4 RPG. Jeff Howard has been mediocre, shooting below 42% in five out of his last six games. The freshman guard had 21 points against Penn State last week and is averaging 14.6 PPG on 43% shooting. Kobe Bufkin has netted double-digits in points in four of his last five bouts. The sophomore guard has filed an average of 12.2 PPG.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are having a rough go in conference play. They have now dropped seven of their last ten games and are 1-6 in their seven Big Ten road games. Nebraska has yet to cover in any of their conference road bouts. Michigan has won two games in a row, beating Northwestern and Ohio State.
Furthermore, Nebraska is poor offensively. They are only averaging 104.5 points per 100 possessions, marking them 189th in DI compared to 112.6 points per 100 by Michigan. Nebraska just isnāt scoring enough points to stay in games. They have netted 65 or fewer points in seven of their last eight games and the Wolverines' top strength is the defense.

I expect this one to go over. The Cornhuskers' defense has not been nearly as strong recently. They have conceded over 70 points in four out of their last five games for an average of 74 points allowed in that span. Michigan was able to collect a stellar 77 points against Ohio State on Sunday and should have another remarkable performance at home.
In addition, I expect Nebraska to contribute to this total. Michigan has allowed an average of 70 points in their last four games including 83 allowed against Penn State. The over has been the common trend, delivering in four of theĀ Wolverinesā last five home games.Ā
