Florida State takes on Gonzaga in the Sweet 16 from Los Angeles. Fourth-seeded Gonzaga beat Ohio State, 90-84 on March 17 to get arrive at the Staples Center. FSU shocked No. 1 Xavier to meet up with the Zags.
Florida State is a huge team but they need a healthy guard Terance Mann to go far. He was limited due to a groin injury against Xavier. He averages 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds for a very deep team. The Noles can go 10 deep and they wore down the Musketeers, who blew a lead late in the game. It was P.J. Savoy who hit the go-ahead three with 1:08 left in the game to beat Xavier.
Freshman guard Zach Norvell Jr. had 28 points, 12 rebounds and six 3-pointers in the Zags win over Ohio State. He averages 12.7 points, while guard Johnathan Williams leads with 13.6 points. Like the ‘Noles, this is a very deep and balanced team that just doesn’t rely on one big scorer.
