The UCF Knights will be trying to bounce back from their loss to Cincinnati when they take on the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday night.
Pirates Going For Third Win In Four GamesThe Pirates had their two-game winning streak snapped by the Temple Owls in their last game and will try to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Knights, which will give them their third win in their last four games and end their three-game losing streak to the Knights.

East Carolina has played well defensively this season, holding opponents to 23.3 points per game. Even though they have held all but two of their opponents under 34 points, they will be tested by the Knights, who are averaging 44.8 points per game.
If they want to avoid getting blown out in this game, the Pirates, who are averaging 20.7 points per game, will need to play significantly better on the offensive end and avoid giving the Knights easy scoring opportunities by turning the ball over.
In their last game, the Pirates scored only 17 points against Temple. Holton Ahlers completed 19 of 39 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns and added 26 yards on the ground. Demetrius Mauney led the team with 45 of their 98 total rushing yards. The Pirates will need to establish the run early to keep the UCF defense from sending pressure on every down.
Knights Going For Second Win In Three GamesThe Knights are coming off a loss to Cincinnati in their last game, giving them, two losses for the season, giving them twice the amount of losses that they have had over the last two seasons. They will be trying to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Pirates, which will give them their third win in their last four games and fourth consecutive win over the Pirates.
UCF is one of the best offensive teams in the country, averaging 44.8 points per game. They are averaging 329.5 passing yards per game and 214.8 rushing yards per game, which are eighth and 29th in the country respectively.
They should be able to move the ball with ease through the air against the Pirates, who have one of the worst pass defenses in the country. In their last game, the Knights were held to 24 points by the Cincinnati Bearcats, who played great defense in the second half of the game and held the Knights to eight total points in the second half, after giving up 16 points in the first half.
Dillon Gabriel, who faced a lot of pressure in the game, completed 25 of 46 passes for 297 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Greg McCrae was held to 71 rushing yards and one touchdown for the Knights, who were held to 126 rushing yards.
If the Knights fail to protect the ball as they did against the Bearcats, they will suffer their third loss of the season.
