The Boston College Eagles will be trying to snap their two-game losing streak when they take on the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday afternoon.
Wolfpack Going For First Road Win Of The YearThe Wolfpack have played well so far, winning four of their first six games. However, the two losses have come on the road and the team will be trying to snap their road-losing streak with a win over the Eagles on Saturday.
NC State is a good defensive team, especially against the run, and are holding opponents to 66.7 rushing yards per game. They will face a tough challenge against the Eagles, who do a great job running the ball, but they should be able to slow down Boston College’s ground game and force backup quarterback Dennis Grosel to beat them with his arm.
The Wolfpack have also played well on the offensive end, thanks to a balanced attack. They are averaging 249.5 passing yards per game and 170.3 rushing yards per game, which is ranked 61st and 60th respectively.
In their last game, they were able to bounce back from their surprising loss to Florida State with a win over Syracuse, thanks to a very good defensive effort that held the Orange to 10 points. Bailey Hockman completed 16 of 27 passes for 205 yards and one interception, while Zonovan Knight finished with 61 rushing yards on 15 carries for the Wolfpack, who finished with 104 rushing yards on 34 carries.
They will need to get their offense back on track if they want to beat the Eagles on Sunday.
Eagles Trying To Snap Two-Game Losing Streak To WolfpackThe Eagles have lost their last two games as well as their last two games against the Wolfpack and will be trying to snap both losing streaks with a win over the Wolfpack on Saturday afternoon.
Boston College will be short-handed in this game due to quarterback Anthony Brown suffering a season-ending injury in their last game. Sophomore quarterback Dennis Grosel will make his first start for the Eagles on Saturday. He completed nine of 24 passes for 111 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception filling in for the injured Brown in their last game.
Fortunately for the Eagles, they are a run-oriented team, averaging 253.2 rushing yards per game, and won’t expect Grosel to carry the team on his back in this game. However, they will have to figure out a way to move the ball efficiently against the Wolfpack, who have the fifth-best run defense in the country.
The Eagles will also have to do a better job on the defensive end when they play the Wolfpack. They are giving up 28.8 points per game and struggle against the pass, giving up 284.3 passing yards per game. If they cannot get pressure on Hockman and force him to turn the ball over, they will have a hard time picking up the win.
