Week eight of college football continues as Tennessee travels to Bryant-Denny Stadium to take on #1 Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 9:00 P.M. This will be the 101st meeting between these two teams and Alabama has won each of the last 12 meetings. Last season, Alabama defeated Tennessee by a score of 58-21.
Tennessee Looks For Massive Road UpsetThe Tennessee Volunteers have been extremely underwhelming this season as they have only won two of their first six games. However, they did manage to pull off a home upset last week against Mississippi State. Specifically, Tennessee was expected to lose by about a touchdown and managed to win by the score of 20-10. Now, the Volunteers have to go back on the road to face the number one team in the country. Tennessee is projected to lose this game by about 35 points so another upset is highly unlikely. However, perhaps Tennessee can build some momentum off of last week's performance and give Alabama a closer game than oddsmakers anticipate.
Leading the Volunteers offensively is junior running back Ty Chandler who has been pretty good this season. Specifically, he already has 383 rushing yards along with two rushing touchdowns. In addition, he is also averaging 5.1 yards per carry. However, he was pretty quiet in Tennessee's win last week as he only had 63 rushing yards on 16 carries. He will look to bounce back with a solid performance on the road in this game.
Tennessee's biggest threat on defense is junior defensive back Theo Jacksonwho has been solid through the first six games. So far this season, he leads the team with 37 total tackles. In addition, he also has one interception so he has the ability to make an impact on both passing and running plays. Look for Jackson to make his presence known on Saturday if Tennessee ends up covering this spread.
Alabama Looks To Remain UndefeatedThe Alabama Crimson Tide are currently the number one team in the country according to the AP Poll. In addition, the Crimson Tide are still undefeated and will most likely need to run the table in order to get back to the College Football Playoff. However, Alabama entered the season with the expectations of winning the championship so this current success is pretty much par for the course. Now, Alabama is a huge home favorite once again against a conference foe and it will look for another convincing win to keep its current ranking. Luckily for the Alabama, this game is against a program that it has not lost to since 2006 so one can expect the Crimson Tide to roll once again on Saturday.
Leading the Crimson Tide on offense is junior Tua Tagovailoa who has been unstoppable so far this season. Specifically, he already has 27 passing touchdowns along with 2,011 passing yards. In addition, he also only has one interception which is a testament to his amazing ball security. These statistics are the main reason why he is currently the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this season and he will look to further separate himself from the rest of the pack with another solid performance against Tennessee.

Alabama’s biggest threat on defense is junior defensive back Xavier McKinney who has looked amazing so far this season. Specifically, he is tied for the most forced fumbles and fumble recoveries on the team. In addition, he is also leading the team with 47 total tackles along with one interception. McKinney has been great in virtually every area so far this season and he will look to disrupt Tennessee's offensive gameplan on Saturday.
