Where and when: October 20, 2018, Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR, 12:00 PM ET
A losing streak will be snapped one way or another when the Tulsa Golden Hurricane go on the road to visit the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tulsa is currently riding a five-game losing streak with their last loss coming in a near upset win over South Florida. The Razorbacks, on the other hand, have lost six straight games and came within a touchdown of knocking off Ole Miss at home last Saturday night.
Tulsa blows a fourth quarter lead
Tulsa had South Florida on the ropes last Friday night and failed to deliver the knockout punch in the fourth quarter. They didn’t have the same energy down the stretch, and it looked like they were content on playing not to lose rather than playing for the win. After three hard-fought quarters where they put themselves in a position to pull off a stunning upset, they collapsed by failing to score on offense and giving up 15 points on defense.
A primetime win was simply too good to be true for Tulsa.
Freshman quarterback Seth Boomer struggled throwing the ball all night long. He went 6-of-21 passing for 79 yards and one touchdown, finishing with a QBR of 29.8. These were the expected growing pains when the team decided to bench Luke Skipper and move on with a younger option.
On the other side of the ball, the defense got gashed on the ground by running back Jordan Cronkrite for 151 yards and one touchdown. The rushing defense has been a consistent problem for Tulsa, and it’s one without an end in sight.
Storey shines in Arkansas loss
Arkansas quarterback Ty Storey was getting knocked around like a piñata for most of the night by Ole Miss’ defense. Yet, he continued to battle through the pain and adversity in an inspiring and gutsy performance. He finally exited the game in the fourth quarter with 122 passing yards and one touchdown, along with 70 yards rushing on nine carries.
Running back Rakeem Boyd also had a standout game with seven carries for 109 yards and one touchdown.

After three quarters of action, the Razorbacks were in prime position to put the finishing touches on what Storey started, but they stayed true to their disappointing ways and gave up 13 points on defense, while remaining scoreless on offense in a 37-33 loss.
The defense had no answer for Ole Miss quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, who threw for 387 yards and rushed for 141 yards for a total of three touchdowns. It was truly a jaw-dropping performance that continued to shed light on the continued struggles defensively for the Razorbacks, who are allowing an average of 36.9 points and 430.6 total yards per game.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Arkansas could be without Storey and Boyd, and they’ll definitely be without running back Devwah Whaley, who reportedly had surgery on Monday for an ankle injury. Boyd is expected to play, and Razorbacks head coach Chad Morris isn’t certain on the availability of Storey. Any bettors out there would do well to keep an eye on Storey’s status for this game.
I’d be surprised if he wasn’t on the field after the toughness he showed against Ole Miss. If anything, he’ll do everything in his ability to be ready to go by game day, which is why I’m going with the Razorbacks in this game.
While Arkansas is clearly struggling defensively, Boomer isn’t experienced enough to take advantage of the various opportunities he will probably get on Saturday. I don’t foresee this being a pretty game by any stretch, particularly if Storey is inactive.
Boyd, who is coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing performances against Alabama and Ole Miss, should have another standout game against a Tulsa defense giving up an average of 216 yards on the ground. Even if Storey plays, expect Arkansas to lean on Boyd to carry the load for the team’s first win in October.
Prediction: Arkansas Razorbacks (-6)
Full-Game Total Pick
The quarterback play doesn’t look promising in this game. Storey is banged-up for the Razorbacks, and Boomer is still settling into Tulsa’s offense as a starter. Even with two exploitable defensive units, there won’t be as much scoring as some might initially think. The under is 6-0 in Tulsa’s last six games on the road.
Prediction: Under (55)
