Week nine of college football continues as Florida Atlantic travels to S.B. Ballard Stadium to take on Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 P.M. This will be the sixth meeting between these two teams with Florida Atlantic winning three of the first five. The Owls also managed to win the lone meeting last season by the score of 52-33.
Florida Atlantic Looks To Stay Above .500The Florida Atlantic Owls have been pretty solid so far this season. After starting with consecutive losses against ranked teams, Florida Atlantic has won four of its last five games which gives it a 4-3 overall record. In addition, the Owls are currently 2-1 in conference play after losing a heartbreaker to Marshall at home last week by five points. Now, Florida Atlantic will look to get back on track in this road game as it will look to maintain its winning record. However, Florida Atlantic has actually been great on the road this season as it has covered all three-point spreads away from home this season.
Leading the Owls offensively is sophomore quarterback Chris Robison who has looked amazing so far this season. Specifically, he has thrown for 1,923 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns. In addition, Robison also has two rushing touchdowns and he has only thrown three interceptions so he has done a solid job at limiting turnovers. With a below-average defense up next, Robison should put together another great performance.

Florida Atlantic's biggest threat on defense is senior linebacker Rashad Smith who has been great through the first seven games of the season. Specifically, he has two interceptions and 1.5 sacks. In addition, he also has 23 solo tackles along with one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. Last week, Smith had seven tackles but did not force any turnovers so he will look to make a bigger impact in this game.
Old Dominion Looks For Rare Conference WinOld Dominion has been one of the worst teams in division one football at this point in time. Specifically, the Monarchs have lost six of their first seven games with their only win coming against an FCS opponent. In addition, Old Dominion has lost each of its last six games with only one of them coming by single digits. As a result, Old Dominion is currently winless in conference play and will most likely finish the season with less than three wins unless there is suddenly a massive turnaround. However, this game comes against a conference foe who has beaten the Monarchs by at least 19 points in each of the last two meetings.
Leading the Monarchs offensively will be senior running back Kesean Strongwho has been okay so far this season. Specifically, he has 200 rushing yards along with three touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. In addition, he also leads the team with 18 receptions and 133 receiving yards so he is a threat in multiple ways. Look for Strong to be used in both areas on Saturday.
Old Dominion's biggest threat on defense is sophomore defensive end Keion White who has been pretty good so far this season. Specifically, he has 2.5 sacks which is the second-most on the team. In addition, he also has 18 solo tackles along with one interception and one fumble recovery. Old Dominion's defense has been pretty underwhelming up to this point so White might need to make a game-changing play for this unit to suddenly get it together.
