This Saturday, there is a college football matchup between the Florida International Panthers and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. These teams will face off at about 3:30 PM. This is the eighth game of the regular season for both teams, which will take place at Floyd Stadium.
Florida International Looks For First Road WinFlorida International has had a very inconsistent start to its regular season. Specifically, the Panthers started the season with two consecutive losses before losing its fourth game to Louisiana Tech. However, since that loss, Florida International has won each of its last three games by at least 15 points. However, all of those games came at home as the Panthers are still winless on the road this season. Now, Florida International will look to extend its winning streak by winning its first road game of the season.
Leading the Panthers offensively will be senior running back Anthony Jones who has been great so far this season. Specifically, he has 512 rushing yards along with seven rushing touchdowns. In addition, he also has 114 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Last week, Jones had 163 total yards and a touchdown so he enters this game in great form. Now, he will look to get back into the endzone in this road game.
Florida International's biggest threat on defense is junior defensive back Rishard Dames who has been great through the first seven games of the season. Specifically, he has three interceptions and one defensive touchdown which are both the most on the team. In addition, he also has 18 solo tackles. Last week, Dames was able to intercept a pass against UTEP and he will look to add to his interception total on Saturday.
Middle Tennessee Looks To Get Back On TrackMiddle Tennessee has had a very underwhelming start to its regular season. Specifically, the Blue Raiders are currently in serious danger of missing a bowl game as they have only won two of their first seven games. In addition, Middle Tennessee enters this game in terrible form as it lost four of its last five games. However, it now gets to return home following consecutive road games as it will look to get back to its winning ways. Luckily for the Blue Raiders, they will face a team that they have beaten in three of the last four meetings.
Middle Tennessee's offense is led by sophomore quarterback Asher O’Hara who has looked pretty good so far this season. Specifically, he has thrown for 1,627 passing yards along with ten passing touchdowns. In addition, he is also leading the Blue Raiders on the ground with 450 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Now, O'Hara will look to lead his team to a rare win on Saturday.
Middle Tennessee's biggest threat on defense is senior safety Jovante Moffatt who has been the best player on this unit by a wide margin. Specifically, he has three interceptions and 46 solo tackles which are both the most on the team. In addition, he also has 30 interception yards so he has the ability to drastically impact field position with the ball in his hands. Moffatt also enters this game in solid form as he had one interception and seven solo tackles last week against North Texas.
- Golden Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
- Blue Raiders are 0-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
- Blue Raiders are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
