It’s a battle between a pair of Conference USA opponents from the West Division of the conference in the Yellowhammer State. The Golden Eagles own a 10-6 edge in the all-time series but UAB has taken the last two matchups, including a 30-12 win on the road in the last meeting on October 28, 2017.
Southern Miss Golden Eagles Try for Back to Back Wins

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
UAB has been on a roll of late with seven straight wins and they’re playing at home in this one. Southern Miss has been in close games and come up on both sides of the decision, losing to Charlotte by three before beating Marshall by two. The Blazers are the nation’s top team in scoring defense and while the Golden Eagles are no slouches, the offense has to move the ball against UAB. In the end, the Blazers are too much at home as they make it eight straight wins as they take advantage of a Southern Miss team that has turned the ball over 21 times.
Prediction: UAB Blazers -11.5
Full-Game Total Pick
We’re looking at a pair of excellent defensive units who can shut down opposing offensive units. Southern Miss self destructs a fair amount of the time with 21 turnovers on the year. The Golden Eagles’ defense has forced 16 takeaways, helping keep them in close games despite their propensity for coughing the ball up. UAB is a +4 in the giveaway/takeaway department and their defense sets up the offense in prime field position on a consistent basis. Can Southern Miss find a way to pierce the Blazers’ defensive shell?
The under is 5-1 in the Golden Eagles’ last 6 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and 4-1 in their last five overall. UAB has seen the under go 14-2 in their last 16 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game, 7-1 in their last eight on fieldturf and 7-1 in their last eight conference games. With two tough defenses, points may be hard to come by: look for this one to fall under the number.
Prediction: Under 46.5
