Colorado Buffaloes (4-7) vs. Utah Utes (8-3)
The Utah Utes will be looking for their fifth straight win when they welcome the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday. Utah crushed No. 3 Oregon, 38-7, earning their fourth straight victory. The Utes are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games. Colorado is coming off a 20-17 victory over Washington, their second win in the last three games. The Buffaloes are 4-2 ATS in their last six games.
Utah enters as a huge favorite at 23.5-points. The Utes have won the last four meetings between these teams, including a 38-21 victory last December. Utah is 6-1 in the last seven meetings.
Buffaloes Hold off HuskiesColorado broke a 10-10 tie, scoring 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, then held off Washington to earn a 20-17 victory. The Colorado offense was mediocre, to say the least, putting up just 183 yards of offense and nine first downs. An 88-yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown by Jack Lamb was a key play in the game.

Colorado is 119th in points per game at 19.3 and they are 128th in yards per contest at 267.5. Brendon Lewis has not been very impressive at the quarterback position this season, completing 60.3% of his passes but for just 1,344 yards and 10 touchdowns. He does not make many mistakes (3 interceptions), but the team does not rely on him to make big plays either.
The running game is the key to the Buffaloes attack. Jarek Broussard leads the team with 618 yards rushing, averaging 61.8 yards per game. Alex Fontenot is second with 287 yards rushing and has five scores.
Colorado is allowing 26.6 points per game, 71st overall. This is not a big-play defense at all, producing just 12 sacks and seven total turnovers. Nate Landman leads the group, recording 71 tackles. Carson Wells leads the team with 3.5 sacks.
Utes Shock Ducks in RoutUtah opened with 28 unanswered points before finishing off No. 3 Oregon, 38-7. Tavion Thomas rushed for three touchdowns and had 94 yards rushing overall. The defense did the rest, holding the Ducks to 294 yards of total offense. Utah held the ball for 35:27.

Utah is 20th in points per game at 35.9 and they are 40th in yards per contest at 433.5. The Utes have an impressive ground game, led by Thomas who has rushed for 836 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is averaging 5.8 yards per carry which, surprisingly, is the lowest among their four leading ground gainers. T.J. Pledger has rushed for 548 yards and is averaging 6.9 yards per carry.
The passing attack is in the capable hands of Cameron Rising, who has completed 63.0% of his passes for 1930 yards and 14 TDs. He has thrown only two interceptions. Brant Kuthe is the leading receiver with 41 catches for 487 yards and five scores.
Utah is allowing 22.3 points per game, 40th overall. This is a very active Utes defense, with 34 sacks, seven interceptions, and five fumble recoveries. Devin Lloyd has been an absolute beast, leading the team with 90 tackles and three interceptions. He is second in sacks with seven. Mika Tafua is the team leader in sacks with 8.5

Full-Game Side Bet
There is no doubt that 23.5 points are a lot to cover, but this Buffaloes offense is absolutely terrible while Utah is doing a great job on both sides of the ball. The Buffaloes do not give the ball away, as they have just eight turnovers this season, but they do not create turnovers either. Colorado must be able to throw the ball and this is one area that feeds right into the Utes defense as they have 34 sacks while Lewis has been sacked 27 times.
The Utes offense is spectacular and they should easily be able to move the ball. They do not make mistakes either, so a 40+ performance would not be surprising.
Full-Game Total Pick
To be honest, the point total falls on the shoulders of Utah. I do not see Colorado having much success offensively, and no one should depend upon them to get another big defensive score. I would be surprised to see the Buffaloes produce more than 250 yards of offense against a very good Utah defense.
The Buffaloes have a decent defense, but this group is going to be worn down by a Utah offense that can beat you on the ground or in the air. They are averaging 35.9 points per game, but I see them going 10 over that to help drive the total over 52.5.
Take Utah to win, 45-10.
