Trojan Power

The Troy Trojans were able to dominate the UL Monroe Warhawks 34-16 last week. The Trojans had an amazing start as they were up 20-3 at halftime. They need to pass the ball a lot better as they averaged 3.4 passing yards per attempt throughout the game as junior quarterback Gunnar Watson struggled going 10-of-17 for 78 yards. Defensively, they allowed 16 but allowed 7-of-13 on third down attempts and 0-of-2 on fourth down for the Warhawks here.

The Troy Trojans need to be better at scoring the football as they are averaging 22.5 points on 367.7 total yards per game. They are not running the football well, so it will be depending on the passing game that junior quarterback Gunnar Watson does as he is completing 61.4 percent of his passes for 2,243 yards with nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. Their defense has been doing extremely well as they have 16 total takeaways (eight interceptions, eight fumble recoveries) to help win games throughout the season.

Clawing Out Wins

The Arkansas State Red Wolves lost last week against the Texas State Bobcats by a final score of 16-13. The Red Wolves did not do well offensively as they totaled 14 first downs while going 3-of-15 on third down tries and 1-of-2 on fourth down attempts in the game. Senior quarterback James Blackman had a decent game as he finished 22-of-40 for 237 yards with a touchdown pass. The team also ran for just 2.3 yards per attempt throughout the game. Defensively, they struggled as they allowed Texas State to go 6-of-17 on third down and 1-of-1 on fourth down tries.

The Red Wolves have been at a decent level in terms of scoring as they are averaging 25.5 points on 319.8 total yards per game so far. They are doing well throwing the football as Blackman is 203-of-312 (65.1 completion percentage) for 2,251 yards with 14 touchdowns and a pair of interceptions throughout the regular season. Defensively, they are giving up 29.9 points on 404.5 total yards per game throughout the season and need to improve on that side of the field. They have to improve on doing some takeaways as they have nine total takeaways (five interceptions, four fumble recoveries) so far.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

These offensive attacks have been producing very similar results as of late as the Trojans are scoring 19.3 points in their last four games while the Red Wolves are averaging 17.6 points in their previous five games as well. Arkansas State is coming into this game at 100 percent in terms of health so that is critical to their success as they should dominate this game. The Trojans are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against the Red Wolves so go with the Arkansas State Red Wolves to cover the spread as they are getting 13.5 points at home in this game.

Prediction: Arkansas State Red Wolves +13.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

These defenses in the previous five games have really shown that they can keep points off of the board as Troy is allowing 12.4 points per game while Arkansas State is giving up 27.6 points per game in that same stretch. Both programs are not running the ball much, so the offense is very predictable throughout the season. The under has hit in five of the last six Trojans conference games as well as in five of the previous six Red Wolves November games. All in all, go with UNDER 45.5 POINTS in this game as well.

Prediction: UNDER 45.5
