The Houston Cougars (7-4, 5-2 AAC) hosts the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (4-7, 2-5 AAC) at TDECU Stadium on Saturday in Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane narrowly beat the USF Bulls last week, and the Houston Cougars beat the East Carolina Pirates by a wide margin. Houston has beaten Tulsa four out of five times in their last matchups.

This will be the final home game for Houston in the AAC as they move to the Big 12 next season. They'll need South Florida to beat UCF to have a chance to get to the AAC Championship Game.

Tulsa Avoids Being Gored

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane hosted the USF Bulls (1-10, 0-7 AAC) last week and defeated them 48-42.

Tulsa QB Braylon Braxton completed 20/27 passes for 302 yards in the air and one touchdown and no interceptions. Running back Generic Prince led rushing with 220 yards for a total of 271 yards on the ground, and a total of 573 yards total offensive effort.

Defensively, the Golden Hurricane gave up 259 yards rushing and 240 yards passing.

For the season, Tulsa sits at 140.8 yards rushing (82nd in the FBS) and is ranked 117th in Division 1 when it comes to team defense, allowing 33.4 points per game.  Tulsa allows 406 yards per game, ranked 97th in total defense.

Pirates Walk Their Own Plank

The Cougars beat the East Carolina Pirates  (6-5, 3-4 AAC) 42-3 last week. They've won two straight and five of their last six games. Houston QB Clayton Tune completed 32 of 44 passes for 435 yards and four touchdowns — two to Matthew Golden — and Houston scored the first 28 points as the Cougars beat East Carolina 42-3 on Saturday. The Pirates were held to one field goal the entire game.

The Cougars rushed for 80 yards and put up a total of 515 yards offense. Defensively, the Cougars gave up 197 yards passing and 118 yards in rushing. For the season, the Cougars rank 37.8 points per game (ranked 14th in the FBS). They also give up 33.2 points per game by opponents, which makes them 116th in the country.
