Panthers Going for Fifth Consecutive Win

The Panthers have done a remarkable job this season, going from two wins last season to six wins and counting this year. They have won their last four games and will try to make it five wins in a row when they face the Warhawks on Saturday.

Georgia State has done well on offense this season, averaging 36.6 points per game, which is 21st in the country. The team has the 10th ranked ground game in the country and will stay aggressive on the ground against a team that is giving up 235.3 rushing yards per game.

Tra Barnett leads the team with 928 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, while quarterback Dan Ellington has 512 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Panthers can also beat opponents through the air with Ellington, who has thrown for 1,771 yards, 18 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Georgia State’s defense hasn’t been very good, with the team giving up 34.9 points per game. They played well in two of their last three games, holding their opponents to 21 points per game, but gave up 33 points in their win over Troy in their last game.

They will have to play better defense than they did against Troy to get the win on Saturday.

Warhawks Trying To Snap Losing Streak To Panthers

The Warhawks were one of the two teams the Panthers beat last season, which has to leave a bad taste in their mouths. They will try to avenge last season‘s loss and snap their two-game losing streak to the Panthers when they play on Saturday.

Like the Panthers, the Warhawks haven’t done a good job on the defensive end, holding opponents to 38.6 points per game. Their defense, or lack of, has cost the Warhawks too many games this season and they will need to play better than they have, especially against the run, if they want to snap their losing streak.

Offensively, the Warhawks are averaging 28.8 points per game, which is 70th in the country. Even though their offense is not as potent as Georgia State’s, they do a great job running the ball and average 206.1 rushing yards per game, which is 30th in the country.

Josh Johnson leads the team with 849 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, while quarterback Caleb Evans has 511 yards and eight touchdowns. With the Panthers giving up 196.6 rushing yards per game, the Warhawks should also be able to run the ball against their rivals. If they run efficiently and play well on the defensive end, they will have a chance to get the win.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

The Panthers are the pick here because they have played well against the spread, winning four of their last five games, and have also won the last two meetings between the two teams. When it comes to the matchup itself, the Panthers have the edge because they will run the ball down the Warhawks’ throats. The Panthers have the 10th best ground game in the country, averaging 257.3 yards per game, and are facing one of the worst run defenses in the country, which is giving up 235.3 rushing yards per game. Even if by some miracle, the Warhawks are able to contain the run, they will be spread too thin to stop the  Panthers, from throwing the ball, which is something they also do well and the Warhawks have struggled against. Despite being unable to match up with the Panthers offensively, the Warhawks can keep up with them because their defense is giving up 34.9 points per game. However, after watching the Warhawks give up 100 total points in their last two games, it is difficult to see them get close enough to cover the spread, so go with the Panthers to win and cover.

Prediction: Georgia State Panthers -2.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

The Panthers are averaging 36.6 points per game and will come c lose to scoring 50 or more against the Warhawks, who are giving up 38.6 points per game this season and 50 points per game in their last two games. The Warhawks are averaging 28.8 points per game and should be able to come close to dropping 40 points in the Panthers, who are giving up 34.9 points per game. With two bad defenses facing capable offenses, this will be a high-scoring affair.

Prediction: Over 76

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

The Warhawks will cover the first-half spread in this game because they have outplayed the Panthers in the first half of their last three games, averaging 17.3 points per game while the Panthers average 16 points per game.

Prediction: UL Monroe Warhawks +0.5

Half-Time Total Bet

Insiders Status:

The Warhawks and Panthers are averaging 33.3 combined points per game in the first half of their last three games and will fall short of the first half total in this game if they maintain their current scoring pace.

Prediction: Under 35.5
