Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Texas A&M Aggies

Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX

When: Friday, December 27, 6:45 PM. ET.

The Texas A&M Aggies will be trying to snap their two-game losing streak when they take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl.

Cowboys Going For Fifth Win In Six Games

The Cowboys had their four-game winning streak snapped in their regular season finale against Oklahoma. They will be trying to bounce back from the loss and end their regular season with a win over the Aggies, fiving them their fifth win in their last six games.

Oklahoma State played well this season, winning at least eight games for the fourth time in five seasons. The team’s offense was one of the best in the country, averaging 33.6 points per game. The Cowboys averaged 227.7 passing yards and 236.3 rushing yards per game.

Spencer Sanders led the team in passing with 2,065 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also added 625 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Chuba Hubbard led the team in rushing with 1,936 yards and 21 touchdowns, while Tylan Wallace had 53 receptions for 903 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games. He missed the team’s last four games because of an ACL injury and will miss this game as well.

The Cowboys struggled defensively, giving up 27 points per game. They gave up 34 points against the Sooners and will need to do a better job if they want to beat the Aggies.

Aggies Trying To End Season With Bowl Win

The Aggies came into the season with high expectations after winning nine games in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s first season in charge. Things didn’t go as planned for the Aggies, who finished the regular season with seven wins. They will get a chance to snap their two-game losing streak and pick up their eighth win of the season when they play the Cowboys.

Texas A&M played well offensively, averaging 30 points per game. The team averaged 247.1 passing yards and 151.7 rushing yards per game.

Kellen Mond led the Aggies in passing, throwing for 2,802 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also added 383 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Isaiah Spiller led the team with 869 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, while Jhamon Ausbon had 65 receptions for 862 yards and four touchdowns.

The Aggies also played well defensively, holding opponents to 22.7 points per game. They were embarrassed by LSU in their last game, giving up 50 points to the Tigers and will need to lay significantly better if they want to win their second consecutive bowl game.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

The Aggies are the pick here. Oklahoma State is a good offensive team that is averaging 33.6 points per game, but their defense has been a liability all season and will be the reason that they lose this game. The Aggies have played well offensively, averaging 30 points per game, and have the 54th best passing game in the country, which is averaging 247.1 yards per game. The Cowboys have struggled against the pass and are giving up 267.1 passing yards per game. The Cowboys also haven’t played well against the run, giving up 151 yards per game, and will have a hard time preventing the Aggies, who are averaging 151.7 yards on the ground. The Aggies are holding opponents to 22.8 points per game and do a good job defending against the pass and run, which gives them the edge in this game.

Prediction: Texas A&M Aggies -7

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

The Cowboys aren’t a very good defensive team and they struggle against the pass and run, which indicates that the Aggies will control the tempo of this game because they will be able to move the ball with ease. With the Aggies averaging 30 points per game and the Cowboys giving up 27 points per game, it is safe to assume the Aggies will hit their season average in this game. The Cowboys also play well offensively, averaging 33.6 points per game. Even though they won’t hit their season average against the Aggies, who are giving up 22.8 points per game, they will score enough points to push the score over the total. The Cowboys and Aggies have played over the total in six of their last eight meetings.

Prediction: Over 54

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

The Cowboys will cover the first half spread in this game because they have outplayed the Aggies in the first half of their last three games, averaging 14.7 points per game while the Aggies average 5.3 points per game.

Prediction: Oklahoma State Cowboys

Half-Time Total Bet

Insiders Status:

The Aggies and Cowboys are averaging 20 combined points per game in the first half of their last three games and will fall short of the first half total in this game if they maintain their current scoring pace.
