College Football Bowl Game Season continues with the Cheez-It Bowl as Washington State travels to Chase Field to take on Air Force on Friday, Dec. 27 at 10:15 P.M. This will be the first meeting between these two teams as they will both be looking to win that trophy.

Washington State Looks To Get Over .500

Mike Leach has his team in decent form headed into this game. Washington State has split each of its first 12 games after starting the season with a 3-0 record. The main reason for its struggles has been its inability to win games away from home. Washington State lost all five of its road games this season as it looked like a completely different team whenever it was not playing at Martin Stadium. Now, the Cougars will look for their first win away from home when they have to travel Arizona for their bowl game. In addition, Washington State will still finish the season with a winning record if it is able to get the victory on Friday.

Leading the Cougars offensively is senior quarterbackAnthony Gordon who has been extremely solid so far this season. He has thrown for 5,228 passing yards and 45 passing touchdowns. In addition, he has also only been sacked 18 times so he has done a great job at making quick decisions in the pocket. However, he has also thrown 16 interceptions so some of those quick decisions have been ill-advised.

Defensively, Washington State has been terrible up to this point. The Cougars are allowing 31.4 points per game which ranks 94th in the nation. In addition, the Cougars are allowing 456.8 yards per game which ranks 113th in the nation. To make matters worse, Washington State is also allowing 170.0 rushing yards per game which ranks 78th in the nation.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Rating:

It is very difficult to bet against teams that run the triple-option in bowl games since they are almost impossible to truly prepare for. In this game, it will be even more difficult to pick against Air Force since Washington State is allowing 170.0 rushing yards per game. Air Force should be able to control the clock and it will continuously move the chains against this below average rush defense so I think that this is a terrible matchup for Washington State. This game might be close for a little while but Air Force will limit its mistakes and take care of business. Give me the Falcons.

Prediction: Air Force -3

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Both teams are averaging at least 34.3 points per game offensively so I think that this total is too low. Air Force runs a triple-option attack and Washington State has one of the worst rush defenses in the country so I expect Air Force to score at least 40 points in this game. At the same time, Washington State throws the ball on almost every play which should result in some big plays and a lot of clock stoppages which should result in at least 30 points. As a result, I have to take the over.

Prediction: Over 68

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Air Force has been an underrated team this season and I think that it will come into this game extremely motivated. Air Force enters this game with the significantly better record and I think that it is simply the better team in this game which should known right from the opening kickoff. Washington State's defense is a terrible unit and I expect Air Force to run all over it as it will score on almost every drive of the first half. Give me the Falcons as a result.

Prediction: Air Force 1H
