Week 12 of college football continues as Southern Miss travels to Martin Stadium to play against UTSA on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 P.M. This will be the sixth meeting between these two teams. These two teams have not met since last season when the Golden Eagles beat the Roadrunners at home by the score of 27-17.

Southern Miss Looks To Keep C-USA Title Hopes Alive

So far this season, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles have been extremely solid. Specifically, they enter this game with a 6-3 record and a 4-1 record in conference play. As a result, Southern Miss is still in the hunt for a spot in the conference title game but it will need some help as Louisiana Tech is still undefeated in conference play and even beat Southern Miss earlier this season. As a result, the Golden Eagles will need a lot of luck in order to actually win a conference title but that goal is still technically alive which should keep Southern Miss motivated for these remaining conference games. In addition, Southern Miss enters this game in solid form as it has won each of its last two games by at least 14 points. Now, Southern Miss will look to extend that win streak on Saturday.  Leading the Golden Eagles offensively is junior quarterback Jack Abraham who has been great this season. He has thrown for 2,634 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns. In addition, he also has been effective on the ground as he has four rushing touchdowns. However, he has also thrown nine interceptions so he will need to do a better job at limiting turnovers in the future. Defensively, Southern Miss has been underrated up to this point in the regular season. Specifically, the Golden Eagles are allowing 25.8 points per game which ranks 54th in the nation. In addition, the Golden Eagles are allowing 346.3 yards per game which ranks 35th in the nation. Southern Miss has looked dialed in defensively as of late as it has held each of its last two opponents to a combined eight points so it will look to continue feasting on Saturday.
