Detroit Lions vs. Washington Redskins

Where: FedEx Field, Landover, MD

When: Sunday, November 24, 1:00 PM. ET.

The Washington Redskins will be trying to snap their four-game losing streak when they take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

Lions Trying To Snap Three-Game Losing Streak

The Lions have lost their last three games and six of their last seven games. They will go into this game without quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has missed the team’s last two games with a back injury and will try to pick up their second win in their last eight games with Jeff Driskel, who has played well in Stafford’s absence.

Detroit is averaging 24.4 points per game for the season, but the team is averaging 23.5 points per game with Driskel under center.

Driskel has thrown for 478 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in two games, but the team has been unable to get the win because they don’t have a running game, which has made them easier to defend.

The Lions are giving up 27.2 points per game, but they are giving up 28.6 points per game in their last three games. They gave up 35 points to the Dallas Cowboys in their last game and will need to do a better job on the defensive end if they want to end their losing streak on Sunday.

Redskins Trying To End Losing Streak To Lions

The Redskins have been worse than the Lions and have only one win this season. They have also lost their last four games against the Lions and will be trying to snap both losing streaks when they play on Sunday.

The Redskins went against their plan to keep rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins on the bench this season and named him their starter for the rest of the year. He completed 19 of 35 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in their last game.

Haskins will need a lot of help from his teammates if they intend to win any more games this season because the team is dead last in passing yards, 26th in rushing yards, and dead last in points per game, averaging 12.5 points per game this season.

Defensively, the Redskins are giving up 25.3 points per game. They struggled against the New York Jets in their last game, giving up 37 points, and will need to do a better job if they want to pick up the win on Sunday.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Even though the Lions will be without Matthew Stafford for the third consecutive game, the Lions are the pick here because they have managed to remain competitive without their starting quarterback and could have won either one of those games if a few things had gone their way. Detroit’s defense has been its weakest link this season, but the team should be able to contain Washington’s offense, which is averaging a league-worst 12.5 points per game. The Lions are averaging 23.5 points per game without Stafford, which is just shy of their season average of 24.4 points per game. They have a great passing game, and are averaging 281.2 passing yards per game, and should be able to move the ball through the air against the Redskins, who are giving up 235.6 passing yards per game, making them the best bet here.

Prediction: Detroit Lions -3.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

The Lions are averaging 23.5 points per game without Stafford in the lineup and will go over their average against the Redskins, who are giving up 25.3 points per game. On the other side, the Redskins are averaging 12.5 points per game. Even after switching to Dwayne Haskins, they are still struggling to score and will likely finish this game with less than 20 points, which will keep the score under the total.

Prediction: Under 41.5

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

The Lions will cover the first-half spread in this game because they have outplayed the Redskins in the first half of their last three games, averaging 11.3 points per game while the Redskins average five points per game.

Prediction: Detroit Lions -0.5

Half-Time Total Bet

Insiders Status:

The Redskins and Lions are averaging 16.3 combined points per game in the first half of their last three games and will stay under the first-half total in this game if they maintain their current scoring pace.

Prediction: Under 20.5
