The Denver Broncos (3-7) will be trying to snap their two-game losing streak when they face the Carolina Panthers (3-8) on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos are coming off a 22-16 loss to Las Vegas as 2.5-point favorites. The Panthers are coming off a 13-3 loss to Baltimore as 12.5-point underdogs.

Denver is 6-1 in seven games against Carolina.

Broncos Looking For First Road Win

The Broncos aren’t playing well at the moment, especially on the road where they have lost four straight games. They will try to put an end to the streak with a win over the Panthers, which will give them their first road win of the season.

Denver is averaging 14.7 points per game. They are throwing for 223.8 yards and rushing for 102.6 yards per game.

Russell Wilson completed 77 percent of his passes for 247 yards in the loss to the Raiders. Latavius Murray had 17 carries for 49 yards and one touchdown, while Courtland Sutton had five catches for 81 yards.

Melvin Gordon III, who led the team with 318 rushing yards, was released during the week due to his fumbling issues. The Broncos also lost WR Jerry Jeudy to an ankle injury.

Denver has played well defensively, giving up 17.1 points per game. They gave up 22 points in their last game and will need to keep playing well if they want to win this game.

Panthers Trying To Bounce Back From Loss

The Panthers followed up their win over Atlanta with a loss to the Ravens in their last game. They will try to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Broncos, which will give them their second win in their last three games and keep them alive in the division race.

Carolina is averaging 18.8 points per game. They are throwing for 175.5 yards and rushing for 110.5 yards per game.

Baker Mayfield completed 64 percent of his passes for 196 yards and two interceptions in the loss to the Ravens. D'Onta Foreman had 11 carries for 24 yards, while Terrace Marshall Jr. had three catches for 76 yards.

Mayfield didn’t play well enough to hang on to the starting job and will be replaced by Sam Darnold for this game.

Carolina has played well defensively, giving up 23.3 points per game. They gave up 13 points in their last game and will need a similar effort if they want to get the win.

Insiders Status:

Rating:

The Broncos have lost six of their last seven games and all four road games they have played. They are the worst offensive team in the league and they’ve been held under 20 points in four of their last five games. They don’t run the ball well and they just released their leading rusher, which will put more pressure on Wilson. Carolina’s pass defense has been great in recent games, with the team averaging more than three sacks per game while holding opponents under 200 passing yards per game in their last three games, so expect the Broncos to struggle offensively in this game. The Panthers aren’t that much better offensively and they’re starting their third quarterback in their last three games, which doesn’t give off a lot of confidence. But, with the exception of their last game against Baltimore’s stout run defense, the Panthers have run the ball efficiently, thanks in large part to Foreman, who rushed for over 115 yards in three of their previous four games. The Broncos struggled against the run in their last three games, giving up more than 120 yards per game, and will have a hard time slowing down the Panthers, so go with Carolina to cover the spread.

Prediction: Carolina Panthers +1.5

The Broncos are averaging 14.7 points per game and 17.2 points per game on the road. They averaged 25.6 points per game in their last three games against the Panthers. With Carolina giving up 20.2 points per game at home, the Broncos will hit their average in this game. The Panthers are averaging 18.8 points per game and 20.5 points per game at home. They averaged 19 points per game in their last three games against the Broncos. With Denver giving up 20.4 points per game on the road, the Panthers will score enough points to push the score over the total. The Broncos and Panthers played over the total in four of their last five meetings.
