This Sunday, there will be a football matchup between two AFC teams as the Denver Broncos travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. This game will be taking place at 1:00 P.M. EST and it will be the second game of the season for both teams.
Broncos Lose Heartbreaker On Monday NightThe Denver Broncos started the 2020 season very similarly to the way that they started the 2019 season. In both openers, Denver lost a one-possession game that it easily could have won. However, Monday's loss might have stung a bit more due to the awful clock management by head coach Vic Fangio as he decided to keep all three timeouts for the final 17 seconds of the game instead of using them during Tennessee's final drive in order to preserve the game clock. As a result, Denver did not have enough time to get into field goal range and it suffered a two-point loss. Now, Denver will be looking to get back on track with a tough road game up next.
Leading the Broncos offensively is running back Melvin Gordon III who was solid in week one as he had a team-high 78 rushing yards along with a rushing touchdown. Denver entered the season with the hopes of a "two-headed monster" in the backfield but Phillip Lindsay got injured which allowed Gordon III to get more touches. If Lindsay is out again, expect Gordon III to get a lot of touches in week two.
Denver's defense will be led by linebacker Alexander Johnson who was great as he recorded a team-high 12 tackles and one quarterback hit. Johnson was decent last season but it appears that he might be ready to take that next step forward as a key contributor to this unit in 2020.
Steelers Look For Another Victory In 2020The Pittsburgh Steelers started the 2020 season on a high note as they were able to defeat the New York Giants on the road by ten points on Monday. As a result, Pittsburgh is currently in a tie with Baltimore for first place in the AFC North which should come as a surprise to nobody. Now, the Steelers will be looking for their second victory this season as a solid performance on Sunday could potentially give them sole possession of first place in the division. Luckily, this game will be played at Heinz Field where Pittsburgh has been great historically which should help its chances for this game.
Leading the Steelers offensively is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who was solid in week one as he had a 229 passing yards along with three passing touchdowns. His performance was even more impressive when one factors in the season-ending injury that he suffered last season. Now, Roethlisberger looks completely healthy once again as he will look to lead the Steelers back into the playoffs in 2020.
Pittsburgh's defense will be led by linebacker T.J. Watt who make a huge impact in week one as he recorded an interception and two quarterback hits. However, Watt was unable to get a sack which was rather surprising and he will be looking for his first sack of the season on Sunday.
