Devils Look To Snap Losing Streak

So far this season, the New Jersey Devils have looked very underwhelming in the Eastern Conference. The Devils currently have 41 points which put them in last place in the Metropolitan Division with a nine-point cushion. To make matters worse, the Devils have lost each of their last three games so they have not played well lately. Now, New Jersey will be looking to snap its current losing streak with a road game on Monday. However, the Devils have lost 15 of their first 25 road games so they have struggled to play in hostile environments up to this point.

Leading the Devils offensively is right-wingerKyle Palmieri who has looked okay this season as he has 16 goals and 15 assists through the first 44 games of the regular season. In addition, Palmieri has a Plus/Minus Rating of +4 so the Devils have fared extremely well whenever he is on the ice despite their terrible overall record.

The starting goalie for the Devils in this game will be Mackenzie Blackwood who has been good so far this season. He has a 14-12-6 record with a 2.96 GAA and a .905 save percentage. This season, Blackwood has a 1-1 record along with a 3.01 GAA and a .872 save percentage against the Senators.

Senators Look For Another Home Win

So far this season, the Ottawa Senators have looked like a terrible hockey team. The Senators have just 42 points which put them in possession of seventh place in the Atlantic Division. However, Ottawa was expected to be a below-average team due to the lack of talent on the active roster so it is not surprising to see the Senators at the bottom of the division standings. Now, Ottawa will be looking to start off the second half of the season on a high note with a home victory on Monday. Luckily, Ottawa has a 12-8-4 record at home so it has fared well in front of its home fans up to this point.

Leading the Senators offensively is centerJean-Gabriel Pageau who has been solid so far this season. He already has 19 goals and 12 assists through 46 games. In addition, he also has a Plus/Minus Rating of +13 which is impressive considering the fact that no one else on the roster has a rating about +6.

The starting goalie for the Senators in this game will be Craig Anderson who has been underwhelming so far this season. He has a 6-12-1 record and a 3.32 GAA along with a .905 save percentage. This season, Anderson has a 1-0-1 record and a 2.98 GAA against the Devils.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Even though both teams have been really bad this season, Ottawa tends to play better at home so I will take the Senators to win this game. The Senators have won 12 of their first 24 home games this season while the Devils have lost 15 of their first 25 road games so I think that New Jersey should continue struggling in this hostile environment. Plus, the Devils have also lost each of their last three games so they enter this game in much worse form than the Senators. As a result, I think that there is some value with the home team.

Prediction: Ottawa Senators

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Both teams have been awful defensively so I think that this total should be higher. The Devils are allowing 3.52 goals per game while the Senators are allowing 3.33 goals per game so I think that both teams should be able to score at least three goals apiece on Monday. Plus, New Jersey has allowed at least five goals in each of its last three games so Ottawa has the potential to score five goals in the game which bodes very well for the over. This game should end somewhere in the realm of 5-3 so give me the over.

Prediction: Over 6.5

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

The Devils enter this game in terrible form having lost each of their last three games so I think that they should get out to a very slow start over the first 20 minutes of this game. Plus, New Jersey's defense has been giving up goals very frequently over the past few games so I think that Ottawa has a very good chance at scoring around two goals in this game which gives the Senators a very good chance of having a lead after the first period. As a result, I think that there is some value with the home team.

Prediction: Ottawa Senators 1P
