Red Wings Steal On In Anaheim
The Detroit Red Wings have one of the worst records in the league but they have been playing a bit better of late. The Red Wings come in having won their last three games in a row after they had lost 12 of their previous 13 games. Detroit had scored a total of 22 goals over those previous 13 games but they have scored 11 goals during their three-game win streak. The bigger improvement has been on the other side of the ice as the Red Wings have allowed just 2.33 gpg over their last three games after giving up 4.39 gpg over their previous 13 games. Can the Red Wings keep it rolling? they have a shot as the Kings are also one of the worst teams in the league. Detroit is off a 4-3 OT win over the Ducks. They scored the tying goal with 37 seconds left in regulation and then the game-winner at the 2:04 mark of the OT period. Dennis Cholowski
scored the winning goal and it was his 2nd of the year. Also scoring in the win was Filip Hronek (4th), Andreas Athanasiou (3rd) and Dylan Larkin (6th).
Snatching up the win was Jonathan Bernier, who stopped 24 of the 27 shots that he faced to improve to 5-5 with a 3.19 GAA on the year. Jimmy Howard is slated to get the start in this none and he has gone 2-8 with a 3.99 GAA on the year, including 1-3 with a 4.92 GAA on the road. In his career, he has gone 104-116 with a 2.71 GAA on the road and 51-40 with a 2.49 GAA during the month of November, plus 11-9 with a 2.46 GAA against the Kings. The Red Wings enter this game ranked 31st in the league in scoring, putting up 2.30 gpg and 31st in goals allowed, giving up 3.75 gpg.
