Blue Jays to Make Playoffs at 18% | Kalshi Promo Code
The Toronto Blue Jays remain outside the American League playoff picture, but prediction-market traders are becoming noticeably less pessimistic about their chances of getting back into the race.
Kalshi now gives Toronto an 18% probability of making the 2026 MLB playoffs, with Yes contracts available at 19 cents and No at 82 cents.
That represents a meaningful move from the last time we examined this market. Toronto was sitting at just 11% on Aug. 5. The headline probability has therefore climbed seven percentage points in one week.
The Blue Jays have helped themselves by taking the first two games of their current series against Boston, including a 5-3 victory Tuesday night. At the same time, fresh injuries to the rotation make the remaining path anything but straightforward.

Blue Jays Playoff Probability Rises to 18%
Kalshi's current MLB playoff qualifier market puts Toronto at 18% to reach the postseason.
The market currently shows:
- Toronto to make the playoffs: 18%
- Yes: 19 cents
- No: 82 cents
The broader playoff-qualifier market has attracted more than $1.85 million in trading volume, with traders pricing postseason paths for teams across both leagues.
The important comparison for Toronto is the move from its previous 11% reading.
An 18% probability still makes the Blue Jays a significant outsider, but the market is no longer treating their playoff push as quite as remote as it did immediately after the trade deadline.
Toronto Has Taken Two Straight From Boston
Recent results are giving the Blue Jays a reason to keep pushing.
Toronto opened its four-game series against Boston with a 2-1 victory Monday. Jameson Taillon worked four scoreless innings before leaving with right forearm discomfort, while Charles McAdoo homered and Andres Gimenez supplied the other Toronto run.
The Blue Jays followed that with a 5-3 win Tuesday.
Toronto erased a 3-1 deficit and took the lead in the sixth inning before Myles Straw added an insurance run with an RBI double in the eighth. Brett Bateman finished with two hits and two RBIs, while the bullpen held Boston scoreless after Dylan Cease completed five innings.
Those victories came at an important time.
Boston has now lost four consecutive games, creating at least some movement around an American League playoff race that still has several teams competing for the final postseason positions.
For Toronto, simply staying alive long enough to make September meaningful is the immediate objective.
Pitching Injuries Complicate the Blue Jays' Playoff Push
The rise from 11% to 18% does not mean Toronto's path has suddenly become easy.
The biggest problem is the rotation.
Rookie Trey Yesavage underwent surgery Tuesday to repair the meniscus in his left knee. The 23-year-old is considered week-to-week after going 5-5 with a 3.65 ERA and 91 strikeouts across 93 2/3 innings this season.
His status for the remainder of the season is uncertain.
Taillon has also been placed on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis. That removes another rotation option at the exact point when Toronto needs to string together wins consistently.
The Blue Jays had already reduced their rotation depth when Kevin Gausman was moved to the Chicago Cubs before the deadline. Losing Yesavage and Taillon puts even more pressure on Cease and the remaining pitching staff.
That tension is what makes the 18% market especially interesting.
Toronto's recent results are improving, but the roster is becoming more difficult to manage.
What Has Changed Since Toronto Was at 11%?
The first Blue Jays playoff-market update came with Toronto priced at 11%.
One week later, the probability is 18%.
That does not mean the playoff picture has transformed overnight. Instead, several smaller developments have moved in Toronto's direction.
The Blue Jays have added wins, Boston has stumbled, and the American League's final postseason spots remain unsettled. Those developments create more possible routes back into contention than Toronto appeared to have a week ago.
The negative side is just as clear.
Toronto still needs to make up ground while navigating the final stretch of the schedule with a rotation that has lost two more pitchers.
That is why an 18% market price captures where the team stands.
The Blue Jays are alive.
They are not close to safe.
August Schedule Gives Toronto a Chance to Move the Market
The upcoming schedule will give the Blue Jays repeated opportunities to change their playoff probability.
Toronto still has two games remaining in the current Boston series before hosting the New York Yankees for three games this weekend. The Blue Jays then have additional divisional games ahead as the playoff race moves deeper into August.
Those games carry extra importance because Toronto can improve its own position while directly damaging teams involved in the same American League race.
A strong stretch against divisional opponents could push the Kalshi number higher again.
A losing run would have the opposite effect, and with only 18% currently assigned to a playoff appearance, Toronto has limited room for another extended slump.

Can the Blue Jays Make the 2026 Playoffs?
Kalshi traders are still saying probably not.
But they are saying it with considerably less confidence than they were a week ago.
Toronto's playoff probability has moved from 11% to 18%, a seven-percentage-point increase since the previous market update. Back-to-back victories over Boston have helped keep the season alive, and instability elsewhere in the American League has prevented the final playoff race from closing completely.
The question is whether Toronto can keep winning while absorbing the damage to its rotation.
Yesavage's knee surgery and Taillon's forearm injury make the next stretch more difficult, particularly with multiple AL East opponents ahead.
At 18%, the market still views a Blue Jays playoff appearance as an upset.
For the first time in several weeks, though, that upset is beginning to look a little less improbable.
