Coco Gauff US Open Chances at 24% Before Jovic at Crypto.com

Coco Gauff US Open chances are at 24% on Crypto.com before the former champion faces fellow American Iva Jovic in the U.S. Open Round of 16 on Monday night.

Gauff is currently the second choice in Crypto.com's live women's winner market behind Aryna Sabalenka at 34%. Iga Swiatek sits at 16%, while Jessica Pegula is next at 13%.

The immediate test comes at 7 p.m. ET in Arthur Ashe Stadium, where Gauff and Jovic meet for a place in the quarterfinals.

Coco Gauff US Open Chances Sit at 24% on Crypto.com

Gauff enters Monday with one of the strongest positions remaining in the women's championship market.

Crypto.com currently gives her a 24% chance to win the U.S. Open.

Only Sabalenka is priced higher at 34%.

Swiatek is third at 16%, followed by Pegula at 13%.

That leaves Gauff firmly inside the leading group without making her the outright favorite.

The 24% price also reflects how convincing her first week has been.

Gauff has reached the fourth round without dropping a set.

Her most recent victory came against Cristina Bucsa, whom she beat 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second week in New York for the fifth consecutive year.

The match was not completely clean.

Gauff landed only about half of her first serves and was broken early, but she recovered quickly and controlled the match with her defense, movement and backhand.

That ability to win without serving at her best remains important as the level of opposition rises.

Gauff also arrived in New York with momentum after winning Cincinnati last month.

She already knows what it takes to win this tournament, having captured her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open in 2023 before adding the 2025 French Open championship.

She is now chasing major title No. 3.

Iva Jovic Gives Gauff Her Biggest Test Yet

Jovic is not a typical fourth-round opponent.

The 18-year-old American is ranked No. 14 in the world and has already reached the second week at three Grand Slams this season.

Her route to Gauff required a much more difficult third-round match.

Jovic beat Alexandra Eala 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 in a match that lasted more than three hours at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The victory sent Jovic into the U.S. Open fourth round for the first time.

It also continued one of the biggest breakout seasons in women's tennis.

Jovic reached the Australian Open quarterfinals earlier this year and has become one of the most dangerous young players in the draw.

Monday will be only her second night-session appearance on Ashe.

Gauff, by comparison, has years of experience playing major matches on the tournament's biggest court.

That experience gap is one reason the matchup favors the former champion, but their first meeting showed Jovic can make her work.

Gauff Beat Jovic in Three Sets in Their First Meeting

Gauff and Jovic have played once before.

They met in Rome in May, with Gauff eventually winning 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.

The score matters.

Jovic was able to stay with Gauff through two tight sets before the more experienced American finally created separation in the third.

That gives Monday's matchup more intrigue than the rankings alone suggest.

Gauff leads the head-to-head 1-0, but she has already seen that Jovic can extend rallies, absorb pace and force her into uncomfortable stretches.

Jovic also enters with confidence after surviving the Eala match.

Gauff enters considerably fresher.

She needed only two sets against Bucsa and has yet to be dragged into a deciding set anywhere in the tournament.

That difference in workload could become important if the match becomes physical.

Jovic spent more than three hours on court Saturday.

Gauff has been able to conserve energy throughout the first week.

For a player trying to win seven matches over two weeks, that accumulated workload matters.

What the Jovic Match Could Do to Gauff's 24% Price

Monday gives the Crypto.com market another clear checkpoint.

A routine Gauff victory would remove one more player from the field and could strengthen her current 24% championship probability.

The size of any move would also depend on what happens to Sabalenka, Swiatek, Pegula and the other contenders still alive in the draw.

A difficult three-set win might produce a smaller reaction.

If Gauff struggles badly with her serve or is forced into another physically demanding match, traders would have more reason to question how sustainable her run is deeper into the second week.

A Jovic upset would create the biggest adjustment.

Crypto.com currently gives Jovic only a small single-digit chance to win the tournament, so eliminating Gauff would suddenly open a significant portion of the women's championship market.

For now, Gauff owns the stronger position.

She has won the U.S. Open before.

She has not lost a set this year.

And she enters Monday as the second choice behind Sabalenka in Crypto.com's live title market.
