Seattle Is 61% to Beat New England on Kalshi

Seattle remains the favorite hours before kickoff.

The Seahawks are currently at approximately 61% to win, compared with 39% for New England.

Kalshi's separate margin market also shows how close traders expect the game to be.

Seattle is around 57% to win by more than 2.5 points, while the probability drops to roughly 51% for a victory by more than 3.5.

The chance of Seattle winning by more than 4.5 points falls to approximately 45%.

That creates a fairly narrow market expectation.

Traders favor the defending champions to win the game, but the probabilities decline quickly as the required margin increases.

That is considerably different from the Super Bowl result.

Seattle controlled February's championship game 29-13, holding New England scoreless in the first half and preventing the Patriots from turning Drake Maye's passing production into enough points.

Seven months later, New England arrives with a different offensive supporting cast and another opportunity to solve the Seattle defense.

TreVeyon Henderson Is Out for the Patriots

The biggest Wednesday morning development came from New England's injury report.

The Patriots have ruled out running back TreVeyon Henderson because of an ankle injury.

Henderson led New England with 911 rushing yards during his rookie season and scored nine rushing touchdowns. His absence leaves Rhamondre Stevenson positioned for a larger role in the opener.

New England will also be without offensive lineman Ben Brown because of a knee injury.

The Patriots did receive better news on defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who has been cleared to play.

Seattle has injury issues of its own.

Safety Ty Okada has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while safety Nick Emmanwori is questionable with an ankle problem and wide receiver Tory Horton is questionable with a hamstring injury.

Emmanwori's status is particularly important against a New England passing game that changed significantly during the offseason.

The Patriots added A.J. Brown to give Maye an established No. 1 receiver after reaching the Super Bowl despite an offense that was still developing around its young quarterback.

That makes Seattle's secondary one of the most important units to monitor when final inactive lists are released Wednesday afternoon.

Super Bowl LX Rematch Opens the 2026 NFL Season

The NFL rarely starts a season with this much immediate history between the two teams.

Seattle finished last season 14-3 before beating New England in the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks allowed only 17.2 points per game during the regular season and carried that defensive strength into the championship game.

New England still generated 295 passing yards from Maye in the Super Bowl, but Seattle's pass rush and red-zone defense kept the Patriots from turning those yards into enough scoring.

The offseason was therefore about giving Maye more help.

Brown is the most obvious addition, while New England also added Romeo Doubs to a receiving group that needed more proven playmakers.

Seattle returns as the defending champion, but it is also beginning the season with a new offensive coordinator.

Brian Fleury takes over the play-calling duties around quarterback Sam Darnold, creating one of the more interesting unknowns on Seattle's side of the rematch.

The Seahawks still enter the opener with the home-field advantage and most of the core that carried them to the championship.

Kalshi traders have kept them favored accordingly.

Patriots vs Seahawks Odds Could Move Before Kickoff

The 61% Seattle price is a snapshot rather than a final prediction.

Wednesday still has several potential market-moving events ahead.

Seattle's final decision on Emmanwori could affect expectations for a secondary facing Brown and Maye.

New England must show how it plans to replace Henderson's rushing and receiving workload.

And both teams are entering their first meaningful game since February, which creates more uncertainty than bettors usually face later in the regular season.

The market currently comes down clearly on Seattle's side.

The Seahawks are favored to win the rematch at 61%, but the margin markets suggest traders are expecting something much closer than February's 16-point Super Bowl result.

New England spent the offseason trying to close that gap.

Wednesday night provides the first answer.
