Sabalenka US Open Chances Lead Kalshi at 28%

Sabalenka still occupies the top spot, but her lead is no longer comfortable.

The latest Kalshi market has:

Sabalenka has slipped two percentage points on the latest board.

Gauff has climbed five.

Rybakina has made the largest move, jumping 13 points after beating Naomi Osaka 6-1, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals without dropping a set.

That leaves three players separated by only eight percentage points at the top of the market.

Sabalenka's position is particularly interesting because she plays first.

A quarterfinal victory would move her within two wins of a third straight championship while at least some of her closest challengers remain a round behind.

A loss ends the three-peat chase immediately.

Sabalenka Is About 70% to Beat Linda Noskova

The separate Kalshi match market makes Sabalenka a much stronger favorite Tuesday than the outright title market does.

Sabalenka is currently around 70% to defeat Noskova, with the Czech around 31%.

That is a reflection of one match rather than the three victories Sabalenka still needs to win the tournament.

Noskova is not an ordinary quarterfinal opponent.

The 21-year-old arrives as the reigning Wimbledon champion and the No. 6 seed.

She survived six match points in her fourth-round victory over Marta Kostyuk, eventually winning 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

Sabalenka's route has been considerably cleaner.

The world No. 1 defeated Taylor Townsend 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth round and has yet to lose a set at this year's U.S. Open.

Sabalenka also owns a 2-0 career record against Noskova.

Their most recent meeting came at Indian Wells earlier this year, where Sabalenka won in straight sets.

Noskova nevertheless brings the aggressive baseline game and serve required to make the matchup uncomfortable.

Reuters described Tuesday's quarterfinal as a fast-paced matchup between two players comfortable attacking from the baseline.

A Third Straight US Open Would Put Sabalenka in Rare Company

Sabalenka is chasing more than another Grand Slam title.

She won the U.S. Open in both 2024 and 2025.

A third consecutive championship would make her the first woman to three-peat at Flushing Meadows since Serena Williams won the tournament in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Sabalenka entered this year's tournament as the defending champion and world No. 1.

Her run through the first four rounds has strengthened the case that New York remains her best major environment.

She has not dropped a set.

Her serve has generally held up under pressure.

And the players who could challenge her have been reshuffled around her.

Iga Swiatek, one of the early tournament favorites, was eliminated by Qinwen Zheng.

Rybakina has moved sharply upward after arriving in New York with questions about an ankle injury.

Gauff has won 10 consecutive matches and now sits only four percentage points behind Sabalenka on Kalshi.

That is why Sabalenka can be a 70% favorite Tuesday while holding only a 28% chance of winning the entire tournament.

Noskova is only the first obstacle.

Tuesday's Quarterfinal Can Reshape the Women's Title Market

The U.S. Open schedule moves into the quarterfinal stage Tuesday, with the daytime singles session beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sabalenka and Noskova headline the first half of a women's quarterfinal draw that has become much tighter over the past 24 hours.

Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro also play Tuesday.

Gauff faces Mirra Andreeva on Wednesday.

Rybakina meets Zheng.

Sabalenka still has the shortest title price of anyone left.

What has changed is the distance between her and everyone else.

At 28%, Kalshi traders are giving the two-time defending champion a better chance than any individual rival.

They are also giving the rest of the field a 72% chance to stop the three-peat.

Tuesday is where that balance gets its next test.

Sabalenka has won every set she has played in New York this year, has never lost to Noskova and is roughly a 70% favorite to reach the semifinals.
