As "safe" bets go, they normally don't pay much. You can, however, accumulate five of them in one and - bingo! You're onto something! Here are the best ones from the upcoming Sunday (Aug. 26).
WATFORD TO SCORE VS. CRYSTAL PALACE (-325)
(England - Premier League - Sunday, August 26, 8:30 AM ET)
Watford have been on fire this season, already netting five markers in their first two opening Premier League matches, scoring in each of them. And while the visit of Crystal Palace to Vicarage Road brought a scoreless draw last season, the Hornets still found the back of the net in 12 home games prior and have now scored in their very last seven fixtures, including friendlies.
ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG TO WIN VS. FC UFA (-150)
(Russia - Premier League - Sunday, August 26, 9:30 AM ET)
Boosted by the excellent form of Russia's World Cup hero Artem Dzyuba, Zenit St. Petersburg is our Russian favorite to be winning on a regular basis. The team has scored 15 goals in its last three games, has won 11 of its past 13 fixtures in all competitions (W11 D1 L1) and currently sits at the top of the Russian Premier League with 12 points from four games. FC Ufa, meanwhile, are winless in their last four (D1 L3).
OVER 1.5 GOALS IN NEWCASTLE UNITED VS. CHELSEA (-370)
(England - Premier League - Sunday, August 26, 11:00 AM ET)
Chelsea might be the bookies' favorites to win here, but they still haven't managed to beat Newcastle United in their last five trips to St. James' Park (D1 L4), with the hosts scoring at least two goals on each occasion. In fact, the last 17 meetings between the two teams, dating back to April 2009, have seen at least two strikes netted, with the very last five head-to-head matchups averaging four goals per game.
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE IN BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS. RB LEIPZIG (-190)
(Germany - Bundesliga - Sunday, August 26, 12:00 noon ET)
RB Leipzig have found the back of the net in nine of their past 11 contests in all competitions, while Borussia Dortmund have scored at least a goal in 14 straight games, including friendlies this summer, so do expect some attacking fireworks in this fixture. Even more so given the fact that both finished in the Top 5 of best attacking teams in Bundesliga last year.
RENNES TO SCORE VS. MARSEILLE (-170)
(France - Ligue 1 - Sunday, August 26, 3:00 PM ET)
Olympique Marseille are -200 favorites to notch a home victory against Rennes, but are very unlikely to do so without conceding at least a goal themselves. The team has managed to keep just a single clean sheet in its last 15 games in all competitions, while Rennes have failed to score at least once in just one of their past 20 fixtures. The visitors have also managed to find the back of the net in 11 of their last 15 trips to Marseille, so...
