When expert preseason football bettor Graham Wesley places a bet, sports books take notice. Having shown a profit in 25 of the past 26 years picking apart the preseason as the resident handicapper at ATS, it's no wonder why the books will sometimes go as far as to move lines based on his information.
Like underdogs? That's his specialty as he's won an incredible 84% the past 5 season alone. He's got 3 underdogs circled for today that he states, "…should all win outright by double-digits. And parlay them for a 6-1 score on your money!"
Exclusive for Winners and Whiners, Wesley is going to share his analysis for one of those dogs- Redskins at +2.5 - for free!
He says that New England is typically a poor bet in the preseason, but there's been a lot of hype during summer practices that got the oddsmakers attention, thus making them favored over the Skins. He said the rumors were that the Patriots reserves, who would see the majority of the play time, were looking for a decisive "W" the opening week of preseason and had Coach Belichick and the rest of the coaching staff's backing. His sources have gotten conflicting reports that it will be "business as usual" with the Pats and they'll continue to keep their players healthy in preseason calling conservative plays. Wesley also expects rookie QB Danny Etling to be kept on a tight leash.
"Vegas has put up a joke of a line which should be 10 points the other way."
On the other side of the ball, Wesley expects backup veteran QB Colt McCoy to blaze the way to plenty of points on the board. He says they're deep at the running back position and the Skins will be fighting for all 4 quarters. Throw in Gruden's 11-5 preseason record and Wesley says all he sees is, "A joke of a line which should be 10 points the other way."
