Beating around the bush has never really been my bag, so let me get straight to the point here.
If you’re after a bit of online sportsbook action, there are 24 BetMGM states you can currently bet from legally via either BetMGM’s website, or their highly rated app.

Meanwhile, if you’re more interested in a spot of good old fashioned in person betting at one of the brand’s official retail premises, my BetMGM review found that the rules for folk in your situation are completely different over here.
At the time of writing, BetMGM’s legal states for retail betting are instead AZ, KY, MD, MA, MI, MS, NM, OH, OR, SD, WA and DC – with NV and NJ also making the cut of course, on account of BetMGM running big brick and mortar resorts in both Vegas and Atlantic City.
Unsurprisingly, casino gaming’s a whole other kettle of fish, too – that’s legal with BetMGM in MI, NJ, PA and WV only, with slots, blackjack, baccarat and the like being much more tightly regulated in the US.
On the bright side, the brand’s official website has an interactive map and a clear-cut legal states list that makes it dead easy to determine where BetMGM is legal for its different services if ever you’re feeling lost. These guys think of everything, eh?
So, there you have it – all the latest BetMGM legal states for online bettors laid bare. But are there any other parts of the US that might make their way onto the a-okay list in the near future?
Well, a little bird told me that BetMGM recently struck up a partnership with Century Casinos in Missouri, with a view to potentially launch its online and mobile sportsbook in MO’s soon to be regulated market - which, at the time of writing, is forecast to open in December 2025.
Naturally, I’ll update you guys here ASAP if things pan out as expected here.
But aside from MO’s recent news, the rumor mill’s been running real dry lately, I’m afraid.
If you live in one of the 24 eligible states I listed in my bullet points above, congrats – because you can currently sign up and place bets on BetMGM’s website or app legally, subject to age restrictions and other eligibility rules, that is.

Currently, BetMGM’s availability varies based on what you’re expecting to get out of the brand. My recent review found online bettors can use BetMGM’s sportsbook app and website from AZ, CO, FL, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MS, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VA, DC, WV and WY.
