I’ll be upfront in this DraftKings fantasy review - they’ve got the edge on many other competing DFS sites online today. New DraftKings customers can grab a free $3 contest ticket when depositing $5 or more upon joining.
I’ve assessed the fantasy sports on offer, detailing their guides, format, and app availability. Odds on you’ll love what you see there, particularly if you’re new to daily fantasy sports. They’re available in 44 US states too, so chances are you’re well placed to get started if you’re keen to enter some contests and tournaments.
If you like what you see, you can create an account and deposit just $5 to qualify for the promo they’ve put together for new DraftKings customers like you. You’ll receive a free $3 ticket into a DFS contest of your choice. You’ve got 14 days to use it, so don’t forget - but it does give you time to look around and check out some of the possibilities in a range of fantasy sports including football, baseball, and even NASCAR. Claim your $3 contest ticket and you’ll be locked and loaded and ready to try it. I’ve got a more in-depth DraftKings fantasy promo code article you can read too if you want more details about this and some other promos on offer there.
Expect the best here - even if this is your first time stepping up to the plate with some daily fantasy sports action, DraftKings makes light work of helping you settle in. Check out my review here and compare it with the Underdog fantasy review to see how they stack up for you.
If you want a quick take on whether they’ve got coverage of your favorite sport, head to the foot of the site to find out more. That’s where I started while putting together this DraftKings fantasy review. They’ve listed all their fantasy sports there, including the following big hitters:
You’ve even got the chance to enter contests based on college football and college basketball - two sports that are often out of bounds when I visit DFS sites to see what’s there. One thing I liked was that each specific DFS page gave me more info and insight into what I could expect from that sport. So, for fantasy football, for example, I realized I could take part in daily contests and others that ran for an entire season. You’ll also spot some upcoming contests, giving you the entry fee, maximum number of entrants per contest, and of course, the potential prizes available. You’ll get that info for each DFS page you visit in that lower menu.
I also think they’ve nailed the contest types - you’re not just getting regular tournaments and daily contests here. You’ve got a real mix to check out. You can try some single-stat contests if you don’t want the hassle of working with fantasy points or salary caps, for example. They’ve got single-game showdowns too, where you can choose any two teams based on the latest facts and stats. All you need to do is to stay below the salary cap with that one.
And of course, since we’re talking about daily fantasy sports here, you don’t need to worry about odds. You’re aiming to rake in as many points as you can depending on the players you’ve picked and the lineup you’ve got compared to how they’ve performed for real. DraftKings makes it easier to get the hang of the format than many other similar sites I’ve tried. You can also see where you’re placed at a glance if you’re looking at how many points you’ve got relative to other participants. And better still, you don’t need to finish in first place to win.

I find DraftKings always performs well, and lineups load quickly which I really appreciate. It allows me to research, build, and submit my entries in minutes without lag. The salary cap tool is also a bonus, and actually feels quite intuitive - it tracks my points instantly, with no waiting or hitting refresh.
Deposits and withdrawals usually hit quick too, and it’s ideal with Apple Pay integrated. I’m well used to playing DFS, and I’ve tried just about every site, and I always default to DraftKings as it feels the most stable. It just works - plain and simple.
I’ll sometimes find it takes ages to find my bearings when I’m visiting a DFS site for the first time to write a review. That didn’t happen when I wrote this DraftKings fantasy review - it was an intuitive and enjoyable experience from the opening whistle to the close of play. You’ll notice a logical and fact-packed approach to every page of their site. I appreciated getting a ton of info from the site before I created my account to secure that opening promo.
That approach continues once you’re on the inside though. Even with multiple fantasy sports to check out, not to mention a slew of contests and tournaments, they’ve provided accurate stats on each contest to ensure you know what’s happening. It makes it easier to see which contests are in your wheelhouse too. For example, I found a $20 entry for a fantasy football NFL contest with a total prize pool of $2,750,000. They accepted a maximum of 161,764 participants for that one, with 4,483 already involved when I checked it out. You’ll see this info format replicated across all DFS options, too, so you’ll know where to look. I hope details like this will make my DraftKings fantasy review more in-depth to read.
Android fan, iOS aficionado, it doesn’t matter… you’ll find the relevant DraftKings fantasy sports app in the Google Play Store or App Store, depending on what works for you. They’ve put together some impressive apps, confirmed by the reviews of thousands of other customers. Check out the 4.8 rating from 174,000+ reviews at Google Play, along with a 4.9 rating from a whopping 535,800+ ratings at the App Store. I’ve also been able to navigate the website with no issues, so you’ve got plenty of options to choose from to suit your preferences. You’ll soon have all their DFS contests and tournaments in the palm of your hand. Accessing apps is a key part of my reviews, as you’ll note in the OwnersBox review on another page of this site.
I soon found info on their Dynasty Rewards program - big enough to warrant a section all of its own. I found myself at the Bronze level just for signing up - and in case you’re wondering, yes, it covers daily fantasy sports action along with other services offered by DraftKings. Whenever you play, you’ll get Crowns and Tier Points. You’ll need the latter to progress through the Silver, Gold, and Diamond levels. You’ll need an invite to reach the ultimate Onyx level, so I suspect that’s based on performance and how often you take part. When you hit Silver, you’ll get double the number of Crowns for your DFS efforts, too. Head for the DraftKings Shop and you’ll be able to swap your Crowns for a discount on merch and apparel.
I didn’t find a payments page to read, but I quickly found an entire section in the help center, so they’ve covered it in detail there. They’ve even put together a jurisdiction-specific page catering for US customers. That told me you’ve got the option to use a debit card, mobile-friendly methods, and various e-wallets. You can also opt for a credit card if you’re trying some DraftKings daily fantasy sports action. Just be sure you’re using a personal method in your name when you use your DraftKings login to access your account and make a deposit there. You’ll be pleased to see Apple Pay there if you’re using an iPhone, for sure (I certainly was), but look through all the available options before you kick off. They’ve even got guides to specific methods if there’s something else you want to know.
Have they nailed it? Yes, they have. To begin with, I thought they’d dropped the ball and failed to provide a help center. As it turns out, you just need to know how to reach it. First off, find the How to Play link at the bottom of their DFS page. Once you’re there, you can read some useful info to familiarize yourself with the daily fantasy sports angle. Keep scrolling down that page and you’ll see they offer some additional helpful resources - and one of those leads to the help center I was hoping I’d find.
It’s a biggie too - I found sections on rewards and promos, fantasy sports (head there first if you’re new), and how to manage your account. You’ve also got the chance to search for anything you want to know, thanks to the addition of a search box at the top of the help center. That’s always there, so you don’t need to find your way back to the start to use it. See how this compares to the help on offer in the FanDuel fantasy review too. They’ve got a featured article on contact methods as well. Use the chatbot if you’re logged in, or verify your email address to use it if you’ve yet to sign up.

Yep - you can confidently enter contests and other DFS offerings if you’re in one of the 44 US states that allow daily fantasy sports. I found six excluded states when I was putting this guide together - Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Hawaii, and Montana. You’ll get a brief description of the DFS format at the bottom of the site, along with a minimum age of 18 (check your state to make sure you’re not required to be older). They’ve even provided you with a page on the legality of DFS in the US, which you can review from the main menu.
It’s part of my job to review various daily fantasy sports sites, but once I’d checked out DraftKings, I knew I was onto a winner. I’ve tried various other sites too, but I always head back to DraftKings for the best DFS action. I love the range of contests and tournaments I can enter, ranging from the simplest head-to-heads through to tournaments with a wide field. Don’t forget, if you’re a new DraftKings customer you can collect a free $3 contest ticket if you sign up and deposit $5 or more into your new account. Head over there today using any of the links I’ve given you throughout this guide, and you’ll see why you can swing for the fences and test your DFS skills and knowledge every day.

Yes - you can enter a contest and if you finish in a winning spot, you’ll receive a cash prize. DraftKings offers a range of contests of all types each week, including head-to-heads, single-stat contests, and a range of tournaments of various sizes.
