NFL QB Notes for Preseason Week 1 (8/10)

Houston at New England

Houston will start rookie C.J. Stroud. Davis Mills is also expected to get playing time, following Stroud.

New England is expected to sit most of their key starters and will start QB Bailey Zappe, who will play a lot. Rookie Malik Cunningham could see late action. The Pats will lean on their youngest and least experienced players in this game.

Minnesota at Seattle

So, there is no need for Kirk Cousins to start for Minnesota, which means a lot of Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall. Rookie WR Jordan Addison is expected to play probably a series or two.

Seattle goes to QB Drew Lock as starter Geno Smith is not expected to play in Game 1, along with key starters. Expect rookie RB Zach Charbonnet to get the bulk of the carries early on.
