College Football Perfect Ten Week 7: October 9th

Last week marked a true upset Saturday for College Football with the #1 team falling and others. Here’s the latest Perfect 10 as the CFB Playoff scramble continues.

Perfect 10 Week Seven

Sad to see you go: Missouri, Michigan & Tennessee; Welcome (back) to the Playoff Hunt: Clemson, Ole Miss & Notre Dame; Let’s take a look at our newest version of the Perfect Ten

  1. Texas 5-0 (+400) - Hope the Longhorns enjoyed their bye week. Things get dicier now with consecutive games against Oklahoma and then Georgia. Buckle up. Last Week: 2nd

  1. Ohio State 5-0 (+280) - The Buckeyes dominated Iowa at home but this week offers up a huge matchup with #3 Oregon at Oregon. The Buckeyes’ defense will need to strap up. Last Week: 4th

  1. Oregon 5-0 (+1000) - The Ducks rolled over MSU but the Buckeyes are a different animal. Oregon benefits from being at home in what could be a College Playoff-level matchup. Last Week: 7th

  1. Miami 6-0 (+2200) - The Hurricanes are probably thrilled to be off this week after consecutive nail-biters to remain unbeaten. The road to the ACC title is still in play as well as the College Football Playoffs.. Last Week: 8th

  1. Penn State 5-0 (+1800) - The Nittany Lions did what they had to do against visiting UCLA last week but it wasn’t particularly pretty. This week will present a new challenge as they head to the West Coast to face the USC Trojans. Last Week: 8th

  1. Georgia 4-1 (+500) - The Bulldogs bounced back for a comfortable home win over Auburn and watched Alabama fall at Vandy. An easy one this week against Mississippi State precedes a showdown with Texas next week. Last Week: 7th

  1. Alabama 4-0 (+650) - Now THAT is what you call a letdown game this past week at Vanderbilt. The Tide never looked ready for the fight and next thing they knew, the Vandy fans were walking the streets with the field goal posts. The Tide should right the ship this week against South Carolina. Last Week: 1st

  1. Clemson 4-1 (+2200) - Without fanfare, the Tigers have slowly worked their way back up the standings. A win at Wake Forest this week keeps them on schedule for a shot at the College Football Playoffs. Last Week: Unranked

  1. Notre Dame 4-1 (+4000) - The Irish took care of business against Louisville at home last week and now welcome Stanford. With a loss already, the Irish can’t afford to overlook anyone. Last Week: Unranked

  1. Ole Miss 5-1 (+1800) - Ole Miss recovered from a disappointing loss to dominate South Carolina this past week. Any hopes of a College Playoff spot will rest on their ability to take down LSU this week at LSU. Easier said than done. Last Week: Unranked

Week Seven Game of the Week:

#2 Ohio State (-3) at #3 Oregon : Ohio State benefits from an early start time out West. They don’t benefit from one of the tougher environments to play in in the country. Oregon’s offense is starting to click and their defense has stepped up as well. I wonder if the Buckeyes have the firepower to outlast the Ducks on the road.
