College Football Perfect Ten Week 8: October 16th

The unbeatens continued to fall this week and there are now just five teams with a perfect record from the major conferences. Here’s the latest Perfect 10 as the CFB Playoff hopefuls turn up the heat.

Perfect 10 Week Eight

Sad to see you go: Ole Miss & Notre Dame; Welcome (back) to the Playoff Hunt: LSU & Iowa State; Let’s take a look at our newest version of the Perfect Ten

  1. Texas 6-0 (+370) - The Longhorns dominated Oklahoma last week and looked very much like the best team in the country. That will be tested this week when they host #5 Georgia at home. Last Week: 1st

  1. Oregon 6-0 (+550) - The Ducks outlasted Ohio State in a thriller on Saturday night and now have a road date in Purdue on Friday night. They should remain perfect and in prime position for a playoff spot. Last Week: 7th

  1. Miami 6-0 (+2200) - Miami is an intriguing team to consider putting money on at this point. Their odds are rather high but they have a clear path the playoffs and have a very reliable quarterback and an opportunistic defense. Next up: a tough test at Louisville. Last Week: 4th

  1. Penn State 6-0 (+1400) - The Nittany Lions picked up a crucial come-from-behind win at USC this week to remain undefeated. They get a bye week before getting right back in the thick of Big Ten competition. Last Week: 5th

  1. Georgia 5-1 (+500) - The Bulldogs picked up another win and watched as Ole Miss fell and Ohio State did as well. A win this week at Texas will vault them right back into the top two. Last Week: 6th

  1. Ohio State 5-1 (+450) - The Buckeyes had the game in hand but fell late and a few mishaps at the end spelled their doom. After the tough loss at Oregon, the Buckeyes don’t have any room for error the rest of the way in a tough Big Ten. They have a bye week this week to lick their wounds. Last Week: 2nd

  1. LSU 5-1 (+3500) - The Tigers pulled out a thrilling late win over Ole Miss last week and vaulted back into the Top Ten. Things don’t get any easier for the Tigers this week as they travel to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks. Last Week: Unranked

  1. Clemson 5-1 (+1800) - Clemson keeps doing what they have to do, win games. The Tigers take their five-game winning streak into Virginia this week hoping to keep their College Playoff hopes alive. Last Week: 9th

  1. Alabama 5-1 (+900) - The Crimson Tide didn’t take kindly to good fortune. They lost to Vanderbilt two weeks ago after beating #1 Georgia and then barely escaped South Carolina last weekend at home. Next up for the Tide: a road tilt against Tennessee! Last Week: 6th

  1. Iowa State 6-0 (+8000) - The Cyclones have flown under the radar but are still undefeated and atop the Big 12. They now get a struggling UCF team at home this week. Last Week: Unranked

Week Seven Game of the Week:

#5 Georgia at #1 Texas (-3.5): The Bulldogs take on the Longhorns in the first-ever SEC encounter between the two teams. Texas has stepped up in all their big games this season, Michigan and Oklahoma, while the Bulldogs did falter in their lone road game against a top-ten team, Alabama. Hmm, 3.5 point dogs? That seems like too much to me.
