FC Dallas vs. LA Galaxy Prediction, Pick and Odds - 7/24/21

FC Dallas vs. Los Angeles Galaxy

The 2021 MLS season continues Saturday, July 24, with plenty of exciting matchups around the country, including the Western Conference showdown at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, where FC Dallas hosts LA Galaxy. These two foes already met each other once this month, and LA outlasted the Hoops as -120 home favorites, 3-1, so let’s see what’s the best FC Dallas vs. Los Angeles Galaxy betting pick this Saturday night.

The Hoops have dropped three games in a row

FC Dallas is riding a three-game losing streak following a 2-0 defeat at Colorado this past Wednesday. It was the Hoops’ seventh loss in seven outings on the road this season, so they are still sitting bottom of the Western Conference standings with 11 points (W2, D5, L7) and a 14:23 goal difference.

At least, the Toros are undefeated in seven showings at home, tallying a couple of wins and a whopping five draws in the process to go with a 12:8 goal difference. They drew four of their previous five games at Toyota Stadium.

The 18-year-old forward Ricardo Pepi leads the way for the Hoops with five goals in 13 appearances this season, while winger Jader Obrian and striker Franco Jara added a couple of goals each. FC Dallas scored just one goal in its last three contests, and the Hoops’ xG of 18.8 shows that they’ve been underperforming so far this term.

The Galaxy look for their third straight win over Dallas

Los Angeles has won its previous two games against FC Dallas, but the Galaxy have suffered a loss in each of their previous four road encounters with the Hoops. This will be LA’s third straight showing on the road, and in their last two outings, the Galaxy have recorded a 2-2 draw at Real Salt Lake along with a 2-1 defeat at the Vancouver Whitecaps.

LA is now sitting at the third spot of the Western Conference standings with 25 points (W8, D1, L5) and a 23:22 goal difference. The Galaxy are four points behind the top-seeded Seattle Sounders and huge eight points ahead of the eighth-placed Real Salt Lake that sits just outside of the playoff picture.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is a key player for Los Angeles, as the 33-year-old prolific striker has bagged ten goals in ten appearances this season. He’s also added a pair of assists to his tally, while midfielders Sebastian Lletget and Victor Vazquez have registered three dishes each.

Pick: Draw

The Galaxy have easily outlasted the Toros at home earlier this month, building a 3-0 lead by the 51st minute while playing without Chicharito. This time, LA is listed as an underdog, as playing on the road is almost always a tough challenge for the MLS teams.

FC Dallas is listed at -105 to win this clash. The Toros certainly have enough firepower to compete with the Galaxy, but I’m not so sure they’ll grab all three points. After five draws in their seven home games this season, I’m looking for another stalemate at +275 odds.

The Total Prediction: Both Teams to Score YES

I think betting on both teams to find the net is the best move here, though the odds are not too attractive at -175. Anyway, FC Dallas failed to keep its net intact in six straight outings at home, and all six tilts produced goals on both sides, while six of Los Angeles’ previous seven games overall saw both teams scoring as well.

Both teams will be fired up to get a positive result. The hosts desperately want to put an end to their losing streak, while the visitors are winless in two straight outings and will look to keep pace with the best teams in the MLS Western Conference.
