LPL Picks 7/2

Sadly, we're in Week 5 of the LPL Summer Season already. Don't let that discourage you though, teams are just now hitting their stride and this makes for the best League of Legends. The LPL tends to do a good job of scheduling at least one fair matchup per day, and today's slate is no different. The opening series will see Rogue Warriors face off with Oh My God. This will be followed be an exciting series between Team WE and JD Gaming. Let's hop right in, shall we?

Oh My God (-165) vs. Rogue Warriors (+120)

The opening series will between a pair of struggling teams in the 2-4 Oh My God and the somehow 0-5 Rogue Warriors. OMG has been far from impressive, although they have wins over DMO and the overrated LNG. It's worth noting that they showed some fight in their losses, and much of this comes from the chemistry between their players. Meanwhile, Rogue Warriors is winless and they have a horrid 1-10 record in their games this split, albeit the weakest opponent they've faced is Suning and they are no pushovers either. I believe this series all comes down to chemistry, and OMG has a huge advantage in this category. We will very rarely see any subs on the OMG side while Rogue Warriors has nine players that have seen action this split. It's going to take this Rogue Warriors team some time to find a starting five that works for them, and it won't happen in this series. The safest play is OMG's moneyline, but I'm looking to cut back some juice.

Pick: Oh My God Spread -1.5 Games (+180)

JD Gaming (-170) vs. Team WE (+125)

Don't look now, but oddsmakers are still disrespecting Team WE. The 3-2 JD Gaming is the favorite in this series against the 5-2 Team WE. It's worth noting that the most likely reason that JDG is listed as the favorite is when you break these teams down statistically this split, JDG has been more impressive. A lot of that can be disregarded in this one though because I feel this matchup is virtually even. JDG has an advantage at Jungler with Kanavi while Team WE has the Top Lane advantage with Morgan and a slight Mid Lane advantage with Teacherma. I give the Bot Lane advantage slightly to JDG as both Bot Laners are equally talented but I feel JDG has the better Support in LvMao. I've been on the Team WE train this split and it has been profitable, but I only see one way fit to play this series and that is the over. There's way too much talent across the board on either team for a sweep to occur.

Pick: Over 2.5 Games (-105)
