German Bundesliga Soccer - Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Paderborn, 6/27/20 - Preview, Prediction & Odds

Bottom-dwelling Paderborn will try to end their last contest in the Bundesliga on a high while paying a visit to 9th-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, who have lost just one of their previous six games. Kick-off - at 9:30 AM ET on Saturday, June 27.

Frankfurt Draw In Cologne

Eintracht Frankfurt extended their current unbeaten run to three games (W2 D1) after earning a 1-1 draw against Cologne away at RheinEnergieStadion last Saturday. Going into the contest, still boasting hope to continue the fight for the 7th place, which would clinch a spot in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, the Eagles were the liveliest side until the hosts converted from the penalty spot just before half time, with Bas Dost eventually tying the game at 1-1 in the second frame. Currently sitting 9th in the standings (W12 D6 L15), Eintracht Frankfurt have lost just one of their last six outings (W3 D2 L1) and will not finish the season lower than 10th.

Portuguese striker Andre Silva, on loan from AC Milan sits at the top of the Eagles’ scoring table with 11 league markers. Kevin Trapp, meanwhile, occupies the 14th position in Bundesliga’s goalie chart, having turned away 72 shots thus far this year. He has posted four clean sheets in 21 contests during the current campaign and allows a goal every 53 minutes of play. Eintracht Frankfurt are 6th in most goals netted this season (56), 3rd in most shots delivered per game (14.8%), 7th in ball possession (49.8%) and 14th in passing accuracy (76.2%).

Paderborn Lose Third In Row

Rock-bottom Paderborn (W4 D8 L21), the only team already automatically relegated from the Bundesliga for the next season, recorded its third consecutive defeat after dropping a 3-1 home decision against top-four aspirants Borussia Monchengladbach at Benteler-Arena last Saturday. The worst team of Germany’s top tier allowed the visitors to score just a single goal in the first 45 minutes of the game and tied the proceedings through Sven Michel at the start of the second half before Gladbach netted twice in the last 35 minutes of the contest, with Paderborn finishing the fixture with 10 men.

German forwards Dennis Srbeny and Streli Mamba lead the team from North Rhine-Westphalia with five strikes each. Goalie Leopold Zingerle, meanwhile, sits 5th in the Bundesliga with 100 saves. He has posted five clean sheets in 27 contests this season and allows a goal every 45 minutes on average. Paderborn has scored the lowest quantity of snipes during the 2019-20 campaign (35) while delivering the 11th highest amount of shots per game (12.5). The team is 13th in ball possession (47.1%) and 9th in passing accuracy (77.9%).

Prediction

Paderborn have been officially relegated from the Bundesliga for the next season for quite a while now, but will still be hoping to finish the current campaign on a high. Especially against Eintracht Frankfurt, who have managed to beat the team from North Rhine-Westphalia on just one of the last five occasions (W1 D1 L3). Having said that, Paderborn have never won a game in Frankfurt (D1 L1), nor have they scored an away goal versus Eintracht, who are entering the matchup on the back of just one defeat in their last six contests (W3 D2 L1).
