Japaleno vs. HONORIS Preview & Prediction - Free 6/11 CS:GO Betting Picks
The opening matches of the #HomeSweetHome: Week 8 Group C are set to begin, and one of these will be a great battle between Japaleno and HONORIS. The winner of this contest will take on the winner of Copenhagen Flames and Illuminar in the winners' match while the loser will face the loser of that contest in an elimination match.
The 86th ranked Japaleno has fallen off a cliff since their peak ranking of 40th back in April. Over the last three months, they have a poor win rate of only 42.3% and they can't seem to mount any sort of momentum. Their map pool is something very scary as they have a 77.8% win rate on Overpass the last three months, but there is a huge drop off behind that. In fact, they have a 50% win rate on Dust2 but none higher than 40% past there. Japaleno has dropped five straight contests, and they need a big win to turn the page.
The 113th ranked HONORIS is at their highest world ranking ever, and this ranking can be misleading. They may only have a porous 25% win rate over the last three months, but they have big upsets over Complexity and most recently Wisla Krakow which gives backers of HONORIS some hope. The team has yet to lose a match on the map Vertigo over the last three months, but it is shaky after that as they have no maps with a win rate higher than 33.3% except for Vertigo.
Pick: Japaleno ML (-145 @ Bovada)
This is the perfect matchup for Japaleno to get the win that they desperately need. They have been much more successful than HONORIS over the last three months, even though neither have been impressive. Japaleno also has the much better map pool in this contest, which is surprising due to the fact that they aren't very good on any map other than Overpass. I expect Japaleno to get things cranking in the right direction with a win here.
