LA Galaxy vs. Austin FC Prediction, Preview and Odds -5/15/21

The LA Galaxy will be going for their second consecutive win when they face Austin FC on Saturday afternoon. The Galaxy are coming off a 2-1 win over LAFC. Austin FC is coming off a 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Galaxy Trying To Stay Perfect At Home

The Galaxy didn’t come in with high expectations after a disappointing 2020 campaign. But, they are off to a fast start, winning three of their first four games, which has moved them into third place in the Western Conference standings. They will try to keep the momentum going with a win over Austin, which will give them their third consecutive home win.

Los Angeles has played well offensively, scoring eight goals in four games. Even though they only had 39 percent of possession, they scored two goals with three of their 11 shots on target in their last game.

Javier Hernández continues his impressive run this season with six goals in four games. Jonathan dos Santos scored the other goal for the Galaxy.

Los Angeles’ defense is still a cause for concern, with the team giving up eight goals in four games. They gave their best defensive performance of the season in their last game and will need to build on that if they want to get the win.

Austin FC Looking For Third Road Win

Austin FC has played surprisingly well for a team in its inaugural season, winning two of their first four games. With both wins coming on the road, they will try to pick up another win on the road, which will give them their third win in their last four games.

Austin FC hasn’t been very good offensively, scoring five goals in four games. Jon Gallagher scored the lone goal in their last game, with six of their 11 shots on target. However, Alexander Ring picked up a red card in the 67th minute and the team was unable to hold on to their lead, giving up two goals in the final eight minutes of the game.

Defensively, Austin FC has done a great job, giving up five goals in four games. They gave up two goals in their last game and will need to do a better job if they want to win this game.

Side: LA Galaxy +115

The Galaxy have won three of their first four games, and both of their home games. They have one of the best offenses in the league and the hottest attacker, with Hernandez in the form they were expecting from him last season. Austin FC plays well defensively, but they haven’t played an offense as good as LA’s, and will have a hard time slowing them down in this game. Even though the Galaxy have had their offensive issues, they won’t face a lot of pressure against Austin FC, who aren’t playing well offensively, with two goals in their last two road games, so take Los Angeles to pick up the win.

Total: Under 3.5

LA Galaxy is averaging two goals per game, and their average goes up to 2.5 goals per game at home. They are facing a defense that is giving up 1.25 goals per game on the road and will be held under their average in this game. Austin FC is averaging 1.25 goals per game, but they are averaging 1.66 goals per game since they were shut out in their first game. They are facing a defense that is giving up 1.5 goals per game at home and won’t score enough goals to push the score over the total.
