MLS Club de Foot Montreal vs. Nashville SC Prediction, Preview, and Odds - 9/11/21

Club de Foot Montreal vs. Nashville SC

Saturday’s MLS card is full of interesting matchups, including the Eastern Conference showdown from Saputo Stadium in Montreal, Canada, where Club de Foot Montreal welcomes Nashville SC with the kick-off at 8:00 PM ET. These two foes meet for the third time in 2021, and their previous two encounters were finished in a draw, 1-1 and 2-2. This time around, the hosts are listed as slight favorites to earn all three points, so let’s take a closer look.

CF Montreal is unbeaten in four straight outings

Club de Foot Montreal is back on the right track, winning two of its previous four games overall along with a couple of stalemates on the road at Cincinnati 0-0 and Philadelphia 1-1. Those two wins came at Saputo Stadium, as Montreal outlasted New York Red Bulls 2-1 and Toronto FC 3-1.

CF Montreal has been terrific at home lately. They are undefeated in six straight showings at Saputo Stadium, tallying five wins in the process and scoring 15 goals in total. Montreal is now sitting at the sixth spot of the Eastern Conference standings with 31 points (W8, D7, L7) and a 30:27 goal difference, four points ahead of the No. 8 seed.

Mason Toye leads the way for Club de Foot Montreal with seven goals in 14 appearances, but the 22-year-old striker has missed the previous three games due to a shoulder injury and is questionable to play Saturday. Winger Lassi Lappalainen (groin) is out, so the hosts will continue to lean on Joaquin Torres and Romell Quioto who have combined for six goals and seven assists so far this season.

Nashville SC aims for its third straight win

Over the last ten rounds, Nashville SC has done a superb job, tallying five wins, four draws, and just one loss. They are undefeated in four consecutive outings, recording three wins in the process along with a 1-1 home draw against Orlando City. In their previous two contests, Nashville SC has outlasted Atlanta United 2-0 on the road and New York City 3-1 at home.

Nashville is now laying at the third spot of the Eastern Conference table with 38 points (W9, D11, L2) and an excellent 37:21 goal difference, trailing the top-seeded New England Revolution by a massive 14 points.

Midfielder Hany Mukhtar leads the way for Nashville SC with ten goals and seven assists in 21 appearances this term. He’s scored a brace in that 3-1 home victory over New York City. Striker C.J. Sapong has nine goals and four assists in 22 apps, while winger Randall Leal added four goals and four dishes in 21 outings.

The Pick:Draw

With both teams playing in a rich vein of form, this should be a tight contest, so I’m going with a draw. As I’ve mentioned, their previous two duels in 2021 ended in a stalemate, and with a lot at stake, both sides will look to stay undefeated.

Furthermore, both Montreal and Nashville prefer to keep the ball in possession and build from behind. On paper, Nashville has a better defense, but Montreal’s offense has been outstanding at home so far this season.

Total: Both Teams to Score YES

Nashville’s defense is the best in the Western Conference with just 21 goals allowed in 22 games. Also, Nashville has kept its net intact in three of its previous five outings away from home, but I’m looking for Montreal’s offense to score at least once in this clash.

Club de Foot Montreal has bagged two or more goals in five consecutive home games, and all those five tilts saw goals on both sides. I’m sticking with this betting trend, so give me BTTS YES at -143.
