Nasrat Haqparast vs Alex Munoz Odds and Prediction, UFC Vegas 6 Prelims

As we dive deeper into Saturday's UFC Vegas 6 Prelims card, lightweight hopeful Nasrat Haqparast welcomes newcomer Alex Munoz to the world famous Octagon.

Alex Munoz (6-0, +196)

Munoz captured attention in 2018 by outgrinding Nick Newell on Dana White's Contender Series. Newell, who fights for Bellator, was born with a congenital arm defect which required amputation below the elbow. Despite his amputation, Newell has gained several career wins with most coming by submission. Munoz looked like a solid physical specimen and hybrid striker/wrestler when earning his DWCS victory lap. Solid at 6-0, the Team Alpha Male trainee has fought just three times since 2016. Ring rust wasn't an issue as 30-year-old Munoz returned last year to defeat Troy Lamson on the regional circuit. However, that lay-off could present massive problems Saturday vs. Haqparast.

Nasrat Haqparast (11-3, -235)

At just 24, Haqparast bookended Octagon defeats with three impressive victories -including an underdog nod over then touted Marc Diakiese. A January TKO loss to Drew Dober, however, halted the momentum Haqparast built. Now with an opportunity at redemption, the Tristar disciple will let fists fly and try to ruin Munoz' defining moment in this prospect showcase.

The Prediction: Southpaw Haqparast averages 5.25 strikes per minute and lands 0.29 takedowns per 15 minutes. The Afghan native owns nine paid TKO's in 14 pro ventures. Meanwhile, opposite lower-end fare, Munoz lands 4.07 significant strikes per minute and 4.00 takedowns per fifteen minutes. Primarily a decision fighter, Munoz will look to out grapple his upcoming opponent, and there's a chance he might. Though, with greater success to his MMA name, take Haqparast by decision here as he's the proven quantity wielding greater power.

The Winner: Haqparast by decision
