New England running away in the East

The New England Revolution is first in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 16-4-4, 52 points and a goal difference of +17. Although New England has played two more matches than second and third place Orlando City and Nashville, the Revolution would still be ahead by eight points if each of the two clubs won both matches in hand. New England is unbeaten in 10 of the last 11 matches, but the only loss over that span was against New York City FC 2-0, but on the road.

The leading goal scorer for New England is Gustavo Bou with 12, while Adam Buska, out on International Duty, is second with 10. Carles Gil is the leader in assists with 11 but it is questionable for Saturday's match. The No. 1 goalkeeper for New England, Matt Turner, will not play due to International Duty. Brad Knighton has appeared in goal in six matches for the Revolution and has conceded 6 goals.

New York City FC slipping down conference standings

New York City FC has lost two of the last three matches and slipped to fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 10-4-7, 34 points and a +15 goal difference. On the road, New York City FC has lost each of the last 2 and has not earned a victory on the road since defeating LAFC on May 29.

Valentin Castellanos is the leading goal scorer for NYCFC with 11, while Jesus Medina and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi each have scored seven. Maxi Moralez, who will not play due to a red card, is the leader in assists with eight, while Castellanos has six. Sean Johnson has appeared in goal in 17 of NYCFC's 22 matches and has conceded 16 goals.

Pick: New England Revolution -100

Both clubs will play without key players because of international duty, but New England will be on its home pitch and the Revolution at home this season has nine wins, one draw and one loss. Overall New England is unbeaten in 10 of its last 11 matches. In contrast, New York City FC has lost two of its last three matches and is coming off a disappointing 3-1 loss to Nashville and NYCFC will be playing without one of its best playmakers Maxi Moralez, who was issued a red card in the loss two Nashville.

Total: Over

The total has finished over in five of New England’s last eight including in two of the last three played between these two Eastern Conference rivals. The total has also finished over in the most recent match for NYCFC when four goals were scored in a 3-1 loss to Nashville.
