NFL Draft 2020 - The Rest Of The Quarterback Class

This quarterback class isn't like the average year in the sense that it isn't top-heavy by any means. There's four projected first rounds picks and although only three more are projected to be drafted, there's more gold laying in the deeper rounds who could potentially standout as well. We could even potentially see some of these guys coming from the later rounds and signing as undrafted free agents as starters later on this season or in the next few years.

Three-year starter Jake Fromm is expected to be the first quarterback taken off the board after the end of the first round. The Georgia Bulldog product is one of the most efficient quarterbacks available. He owns an outstanding career 78 to 18 touchdown to interception ratio. Although Fromm hasn't ever been a flashy player, he's consistent and he's also shown the ability to lead an offense. A lot of experts seem to think that he could possibly be picked up by the Saints and molded into the starter once Drew Brees retires.

Jacob Eason is another efficient option that will be available after the first day of action. The Georgia Bulldog turned Washington Husky tossed 23 touchdown passes and only eight picks last year for 3,132 yards and also held a 64.2% completion percentage. He's another guy who teams could find themselves relying on coming from the later rounds although he still needs a little bit of work as he's not the most accurate passer. The Colts, Buccaneers and Bears have all been tossed around as potential landing spots for Eason.

Jalen Hurts could be a sleeper coming late in the draft if he lands with a team with a veteran quarterback who he could learn from. The former Alabama quarterback transferred to Oklahoma and showed that he could be a great weapon. He completed a nice 70% of his passes with 32 touchdowns and only eight interceptions last season. The biggest downside to Hurts as that he sometimes looks to run too quickly and he's not the best at reading defenses. With a little bit of work, someone could grab a steal with Hurts late.

There are even more solid options that could potentially be drafted sixth or seventh round or even sign as an undrafted free agent and go onto success. Former Clemson quarterback and Missouri Tiger Kelly Bryant is the most notable of these. Washington State gunslinger and Mike Leach's air raid product Anthony Gordon is another name that has been tossed around after throwing for 5,579 yards last year. North Texas quarterback Mason Fine has drawn a lot of comparisons to Case Keenum, and his 62% completion percentage could translate into future success as well.
