The Seattle Sounders will be going for their fourth consecutive win when they face LAFC on Sunday night. The Sounders are coming off a 1-0 win over San Jose. LAFC is coming off a 2-1 loss to the LA Galaxy.

Seattle and LAFC are 4-2-4 in their last 10 meetings.

Sounders Trying To Stay Perfect At Home

The Sounders are off to a fast start this season, winning four of their first five games. They are currently leading the league with 13 points and will try to increase their lead with a win over LAFC, which will give them their fifth win in six games and their third straight home win.

Seattle is the top scoring team in the league, with 11 goals in five games. They scored one goal in their last game despite having only one of their 17 shots on target. Cristian Roldan scored the lone goal for Seattle, giving him his first goal of the season.

The Sounders have also done well defensively, giving up two goals in four games. Stefan Frei has been brilliant in goal with an 89.4 save percentage and two clean sheets. They will need another solid effort from him if they want to get the win.

LAFC Trying To End Three-Game Winless Streak

LAFC hasn’t looked good since their 2-0 win over Austin FC in their first game, finishing in a tie in their next two games before losing to LA Galaxy in their last game. They will try to bounce back from the loss with a win over the Sounders, which will give them their second win of the season.

LAFC has struggled offensively, scoring five goals in four games. They scored one goal in their last game despite having five of their 17 shots on target.

Diego Rossi scored his first goal of the season, after missing the first two games because of an injury. Carlos Vela missed his third consecutive game for Los Angeles. It is unclear if he will make his return from injury this week.

LAFC has played well defensively, giving up four goals in four games. They gave up two goals in their last game and will need to play better if they want to win this game.

Side: Seattle Sounders +125

LAFC’s offense, or lack of it, has been the team’s biggest issue this season. They’ve managed only two goals on the road and will likely be shorthanded once again, facing a team that hasn’t given up a goal at home, so expect them to struggle once again. Even though they are playing well defensively, LAFC has been shaky on the road, giving up three of their four goals. They will have their hands full in this game because the Sounders haven’t had trouble scoring this season, especially at home, where they’ve scored seven goals in two games. Expect LAFC to keep the game close in the first half, but the Sounders will close them out in the second half and pick up the win.

Total: Under 3.5

LAFC is averaging 1.25 goals per game, but their average drops to one goal per game on the road. They averaged 1.66 goals per game in their last three games against the Sounders. With Seattle giving up 0.4 goals per game, LAFC will be held under their average in this game. The Sounders are averaging 2.2 goals per game and 3.5 goals per game at home. They averaged 1.66 goals per game in their last three games against LAFC. With LAFC giving up 1.5 goals per game on the road, the Sounders won’t score enough goals to push the score over the total.
