UFC on ESPN+ 55: Holloway vs Rodriguez - Card Preview - 11/13/21

After back to back UFC numbered cards (one being free in Abu Dhabi and one being a PPV), we are back at the Apex Centre in Las Vegas for a fight night card.

This one is headlined by Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez. This bout was scheduled to take place back in July but got bumped up due to Holloway getting injured. Holloway lost his title to Alexander Volkanovski and came up short in the rematch in two incredibly close fights. He then bounced back by beating Calvin Kattar within an inch of his life in January (seriously, 445 significant strikes landed). Yair Rodriguez hasn’t fought since 2019 as he withdrew from a 2020 fight with Zabit Magomedsharipov due to an ankle injury. Before that he defeated Jeremy Stephens in a rematch (the first ending in No Contest due to eye poke).

The main event should be fun but there are a few other sleeper fights that should be fire. Keep an eye on the Yadong vs Arce and Baeza vs Williams fights. There will also be many solid betting opportunities as the majority of the fights are pretty even as of this writing (the main event being the most lopsided with Holloway a huge favorite). Check out the lineup below:

Ever since renting my first UFC VHS at my local video store, I’ve been in love with the sport of MMA. I’ve watched every single fight that has ever taken place under the UFC banner over the past 25 years. Once I started doing incredibly well in fantasy leagues, I realized I could utilize my skills in fight analytics to make a profit on betting. My obsession with researching every aspect of a fight gave me a real edge in finding value. Since then, it's been one profitable year after the next. Watching your favorite sport is good, but getting paid while watching your favorite sport is better.
