United State vs. Canada Prediction and Picks-Four Nations Face-Off

Canada faces the United States in the Final of the four nations face off in a game that is shaping up to be a classic. Canada has looked great in the tournament aside from their 3-1 hiccup to the United States and looks to get their revenge in the final game. USA on the other hand has been the dominant team all tournament and looks to defeat Canada for the second time in five days to wrap up the event. Who will win this game? Canada will lean on great offense in the big game

Canada put together a great tournament on the backs of great offense, scoring 10 goals in the three games with five in the latest game. Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid scored three goals and six assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense stepped up as well. Nathan MacKinnon, Sam Reinhart, and Brayden Point combined for four goals and four assists while defensemen Travis Sanheim and Drew Doughty added two assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has let them down, allowing three goals in each of the three games played. Cale Makar and Devon Toews led the top pairing but the rest of the unit struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jordan Binnington has struggled in the net, allowing eight goals on only 74 shots.

United States looks to close out dominant tournament with a win

The United States has put together a great tournament with their offense stepping up and scoring 10 goals with nine goals in the first two games. Jack Eichel and Jake Guentzel scored three goals and five assists but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Matt Boldy, Matthew Tkachuk, and Dylan Larkin have combined for four goals and four assists while defensemen Zach Werenski and Brock Faber have added seven assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried, allowing only five goals in the three games played with only one goal in each of the first two games. Jaccob Slavin and Brock Faber have anchored the top pair while Zach Werenski, Noah Hanifin, and Jake Sanderson have rounded out the unit, forcing turnovers in all three zones and limiting shots on the net. Moreover, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been lights out, saving 45 of the 47 shots he’s faced.

Prediction United States (-110)

This will be a great game between two of the best teams assembled in over a decade. Canada looks to even up the score from the 3-1 loss but the United States has been the best team throughout this tournament and it will show in the final game. The United States, who have 10 goals in the three games played, should pile on the goals against Canada, who allowed three goals in all three games played, with Jake Guentzel, Jack Eichel, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. USA, who have allowed only five goals all tournament, should limit the Canada offense with Jaccob Slavin, Brock Faber, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves to ice the game. The United States should win the game and the tournament with a strong performance in front of the Boston crowd. Take the USA money line as Favorites.

Under 5.5

Both offenses have been great in this tournament but the United States is led by their defense and this game looks to be a low-scoring one from the opening puck drop. Canada should limit the United States offense with Cale Makar, Devon Toews, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jordan Binnington to make plenty of big saves. USA, who allowed only two goals in the first two games, should eliminate Canada with Jaccob Slavin, Brock Faber, Zach Werenski, and the rest of the defensive unit forcing turnovers in all three zones while Connor Hellebuyck blanks the shots on the net. The Under should cover in a low-scoring game controlled by both defenses. Take the Under on 5.5 goals.
