Vitality vs. Complexity, Preview & Prediction - Free 9/17 CS:GO

Complexity and Stralis are at the top of the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe Group B with a 4-1 record apiece, and although they don’t have an imperative to win here, it’s always nice to beat big rivals Vitality. On the other hand, Vitality is at 3-2 at the moment, and a potential loss here would complicate their plans to make it to the playoffs. Complexity is a slight favorite in this Best of 3 duel.

Vitality Team Stats and Latest Results

Vitality suffered a 3-0 defeat to Heroic in the Grand final of the ESL One Cologne 2020 Europe and won $50,000 for the second place. They opened the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe with a 2-1 comeback win over NiP, but then lost to Spirit and Astralis. However, Vitality responded with a pair of victories over FaZe and fnatic and improved to a 3-2 record, so now they have a chance to reach the playoffs with a win here. Vitality won seven of the previous 11 matches.

When it comes to the maps in the last three months, Vitality was unbeaten on Vertigo (three times played), and displayed strong performances on Overpass (87.5%), while they were below average on Mirage (40.0%). Vitality’s current lineup consists of shox (1.10), RpK (1.03), apex (1.05), ZywOo (1.30), and misutaaa (0.97). They play together since June 2020 and have a record of 34 wins and 20 losses on 54 maps.

Complexity Team Stats and Latest Results

Complexity started this tournament with four consecutive wins over Astralis, NiP, Spirit, and fnatic, and pretty much secured their playoff place with those four victories. They relaxed a bit in the most recent game and lost to mousesports 2-0, but that defeat will likely not affect their placement here. Complexity won eight of the last 11 games.

In the previous three months, Complexity was invincible on Dust2 (five times played), and played very well on Train (75.0%) and Overpass (75.0%), but they failed to get a win on Inferno, on which they appeared on three occasions. Since June 2020, Complexity is playing with the following lineup: RUSH (0.96), k0nfig (1.07), poison (1.15), oBo (1.09), and blameF (1.29). They played together on 45 maps and have a record of 28 wins and 17 losses.

Vitality vs. Complexity H2H Record

These rivals have faced three times before, and Complexity leads the series 2-1. The latest H2H encounter was at the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Europe, when Complexity secured a 2-1 comeback victory.

Vitality vs. Complexity Betting Preview

Betting on the winner is not my advice in this matchup, because it’s going to be a close encounter that could go either way. Considering two of three H2H duels produced a maximum of three maps, I expect another lengthy affair with plenty of rounds. My bet is on Over 2.5 maps.

The Pick: Over 2.5 Maps (-103 @GG.BET)
