Best NCAAF Betting Promos for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl

The 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl features the Kansas Jayhawks against the UNLV Rebels on December 26 from Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. The Jayhawks ended the regular season with an 8-4 record, tied for seventh in the Big 12 Conference standings. Kansas lost two straight games before beating the Cincinnati Bearcats 49-16 in their last contest and are the favorites to win on Tuesday night.

The Rebels finished the season with a 9-4 record and at the top of the Mountain West Conference standings, tied with San Jose State and Boise State. However, they dropped their last two games, including a 44-20 loss in the conference championship game against Boise State in their previous game.

Guaranteed Rate Bowl Preview

Kansas will be playing in its second straight bowl game and is 29th in the country in points per game with 33.9. Starting QB Jalon Daniels missed significant time this season with injuries, but backup Jason Bean picked up the slack, throwing for 1,681 yards and 12 touchdowns with four interceptions. On defense, the Jayhawks allow 25.8 points, 167.1 yards rushing, and 210.5 passing yards per game, ranking them 41st in the country in that category.

The Jayhawks’ running game averages 5.5 yards per carry this season, and they have a 6-1 record when averaging more than five yards per running play. They’re also undefeated this season when holding opponents under a 66% pass completion percentage. Kansas is favored by bookmakers as one of the college football picks to win in this season’s bowl matchups.

UNLV played well enough in 2023 to secure their first bowl game berth since 2013. The Rebels are 69th in the country, allowing 27 points per game on defense, and also caused 24 turnovers, including eight games where they forced two or more. Their offense is ranked fifth in college football in third-down conversions behind the play of true freshman QB Jayden Maiava, who threw for 2,794 yards – third-best in the conference – with 14 touchdowns.

A victory in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl will give UNLV its second ten-win season since it moved up to Division 1A in 1978 and the first since former Philadelphia Eagles QB Randall Cunningham was under center.
